    摘要: An ultrasonically enhanced continuous flow apparatus for injection of liquid fuel into a continuous fuel combustor and a method of improving continuous flow fuel combustors by the application of ultrasonic energy to a pressurized liquid fuel exiting an orifice is disclosed. The apparatus includes an injector or die housing which in part defines a chamber adapted to receive a pressurized liquid and a means for applying ultrasonic energy to a portion of the pressurized liquid. The exit orifice is adapted to receive the pressurized liquid from the chamber via a vestibular cavity and pass the liquid out of the die housing. When the means for applying ultrasonic energy is excited, it applies ultrasonic energy to the pressurized liquid without mechanically vibrating the die tip.

    摘要: In a pump chamber (1) connected to a liquid supply, an overhanging piezoelectric flexural transducer (4) is disposed so that when voltage pulses are applied to produce an excursion, a number of droplets can be expelled from a nozzle array (3) in the housing wall (2c) of the pump chamber (1) using a plurality of nozzles (32). Gaps (5b) are formed between the edges lateral to the direction of overhang and the free end (4d) of the piezoelectric flexural transducer (4) and adjacent sections of the housing wall. The nozzle array (3) can be disposed in the projection of the plate surface of the piezoelectric flexural transducer (4) in its direction of motion or in the extension of the piezoelectric flexural element (4) or in another suitable position. As part of a combustion device the droplet mist generator is excellent for producing a combustible fuel-oxidant mixture.

    摘要: A fuel supply system (31) for an internal combus­tion engine provided with a fuel injection valve (30) and an ultrasonic atomizer (1) on the inlet pipe (25) of the engine is disclosed. The tip of the oscillator member (10) of the ultrasonic atomizer (1) is formed with an inclined portion (10b) and a reduced portion (10c) ahead of the inclined portion (10b). By arranging a fuel supply passage (9) face-to-face with this in­clined portion (10b), the shape of the oscillator tip is modified, and it is possible to maintain adequate atomizing angle (α) regardless of the quantity of fuel supply without fuel becoming attached on the inner wall of the inlet pipe (25), to increase the turndown ratio and to achieve even spraying all over the circum­ference. Also, it is possible to shorten the engine starting time when the external air temperature is low, and to improve the combustion performance and the exhaust properties, particularly in an engine using a fuel which is difficult to ignite at low temperatures, such as alcohol, kerosene, etc.
