Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a hood-type annealing furnace for annealing, at high temperatures, metal bands, sheet metal or wire, in particular grain oriented electric bands in the form of coils in an annealing chamber (5) under protective gas or in a protective gas atmosphere in an hood-type furnaces having a hearth with at least one charging area for a charge in the form of a coil or a coil-stack. Said hearth comprises at least one protective cover (4) which covers the charge and under which the annealing chamber (5) is embodied, a dynamic seal between the protective cover (4) and the hearth and a heating cover (1) which surrounds the protective cover (4) at a distance and under which the heating chamber is arranged. According to the invention, the heating chamber (3) is heated by burners (2), the open flames thereof being directed into the heating chamber (3) and a low pressure of at least 10 Pa and a maximum of 200 Pa in the annealing chamber (5) is maintained in relation to the heating chamber (3).
Abstract:
A high-temperature furnace for annealing sheet metal packets (4) is described, comprising an annealing base (2), a carrying apparatus (3) which forms a support surface (17) for coaxially receiving a sheet metal packet (4) at a distance above the annealing base (2), a protective hood (6) which coaxially encloses the annealing base (2) with the carrying apparatus (3) and is connected to a protective gas vent and which is composed of a cylindrical jacket (7) and a dome (16) closing off the jacket (7) at the top, further comprising a peripheral seal (9) between the annealing base (2) and the protective hood (6), and a heating hood (13) that encloses the protective hood (6) at a distance. In order to achieve uniform heating of the annealing product, it is proposed that the axial jacket section of the protective hood (6) determined by the height distance (h) of the support surface (17) of the carrying apparatus (3) from the annealing base (2) has a surface which accounts for at least three quarters of the dome surface.
Abstract:
A kiln 10 for treating hazardous materials. The kiln 10 has an enclosure 16 which is moveable between respective loading areas 12 such that material at a respective area 12 can be fired. A rectangular channel 36 is provided in the floor around each of the loading areas 12 and can be filled with water. When the enclosure 16 closes a respective loading area 12, lower ends of the enclosure 16 locate in the channel 36 to form a seal.
Abstract:
A device for cooling the charge protection lid (2) of annealing furnaces has a preferably hood-shaped cooling casing (4) that surrounds the protection lid (2). The cooling casing (4) is provided with fans (6) for sucking air through the intermediate space between the protection lid (2) and the cooling casing (4) as well as with a plurality of air passage openings (5) through which air is aspirated through the intermediate space between the protection lid (2) and the cooling casing (4). Through the air passage openings (5) air impact jets are directed against the protection lid (2) that lies in the impact area of said impact jets, as described in patent no. 396.525. A radial fan (3) is arranged in the protection cover (2) underneath a charge bearing (8). In order to reduce technical production and operation complexity of such a device, the air passage openings (5) of the cooling casing (4) through which air jets impact on the protection lid (2) above the charge bearing (8) are exclusively located in the lower third of the cooling casing (4).
