    摘要: A load on the tray 1B is balanced coarsely and finely by coils 2 and 3 which move in a permanent magnetic field and carry balancing currents. Displacement detector 1 controls the current in coil 3. When the ranges of this fine control is exceeded the voltage across R applied to A to D converter 7 is input to memory 16 containing a program for control of a presettable counter 10. The counter 10 generates a first switching signal on reaching the count set by 16 and a second switching signal when reset by multivibrator 13, thereby controlling the duty factor of pulses supplied to winding 2 via change-over switch 8.

    摘要: An electromagnetic force transducer 1 balances the load placed on the weighing tray 7. To prevent errors due to ambient temperature variation the transducer 1 is enclosed by a casing 2 which is kept at a constant temperature, above ambient, by heater unit 3 and temperature sensor 4 connected through electronic circuit unit 10. A hook 5 which transmits the balancing force to the pan 7 passes through an opening 6 in the bottom of the casing 2 which can be fitted with a sleeve to minimize convection. Heat generated by the electronic control circuits can be used to maintain the temperature of the enclosure 2.

    摘要: In an electromagnetic balance the weight on the scale pan' 19 is balanced by electromagnetic forces resulting from the interaction of current flowing in coils 16 and 17 with radial magnetic fields generated by permanent magnet 11 across gaps between pole plates 12 and 13 and yoke 15. The fields across the two gaps are in opposite directions and the two coils are so arranged so that the current flow is in opposite senses with the result that the two coils produce forces in the same vertical direction. Because the magnetic fields of the two coils are opposed they do not interfere with the fields in the gaps. Support 14 is non-magnetic.
