    摘要: Portable vibration monitoring apparatus analyses into different frequency bands electrical signals generated by a transducer from the vibrations at selected points on a machine. The magnitudes of the signals in the different bands are compared with stored values expected for the particular point and an indication is displayed if the magnitude is too high as a possible precursor to machine breakdown. The results of the comparisons are stored in the apparatus. The apparatus has a microprocessor for performing the selection of stored values, the comparisons and the storage of the results. A keyboard is provided to enter the identity of the point under test and to cause the apparatus to display more details of the results of the comparisons. As part of a system a second, fixed, apparatus may be provided which can be connected to the portable apparatus to enter the stored values and to read from it the results of the comparisons. The fixed apparatus may have a printer. The portable apparatus may have a low power mode in which the stored results are saved.

    摘要: A measuring system which characterizes an inhomogeneous medium such as living body tissue by transmitting an ultrasonic wave including a plurality of different frequency components into a measuring medium and analyzing a reflected wave received from the medium. Generally ultrasonic waves of different frequencies have respective different frequency dependent acoustic field profiles. Frequency characteristics of the measuring system itself are obtained in advance by measuring reflected waves from a reference reflector placed in a reference medium which is homogeneous or weakly inhomogeneous and has an almost or substantially frequency independent attenuation. Compensation data obtained by such measurement is stored in a memory and when in use for actual measurement of a measuring medium, the data is read out and used to eliminate adverse influences on received waves arising from such differences in acoustic field profiles.

    摘要: A vibration monitoring sytem for aircraft engines includes a nonrecursive digital filter network (22) controlled by a data processor (16). A signal from accelerometers (1,2) are passed through a circuit (36) for sampling analogue signals under the control of sampling signals. Digital techniques process tachometer signals to generatate sampling signals at a frequency which is an integral multiple of the rotating frequency. The digital filter (22) can track the rotational frequency of the rotating component and can be accurately centred on that frequency. The digital filter includes a pair of memories (82, 88) which respectively store sampled data and constant coefficients. The sampled data storage can accommodate the output of more than one sensor and data from each sensor can be alternately processed.
