摘要: This application discloses a 3D model generation method and a related apparatus. The method includes: sending an obtaining request to a server, where the obtaining request includes a user identifier and a 3D model category identifier; receiving a response message sent by the server for the obtaining request, where the response message includes a component element set of a target 3D model and a combination rule of the target 3D model that are determined by the server based on the user identifier and the 3D model category identifier; the server stores at least one component element and at least one preset combination rule; and a quantity of component elements in the component element set of the target 3D model is less than a quantity of component elements included in the target 3D model; and performing combination and rendering based on the component element set of the target 3D model and the combination rule of the target 3D model, to obtain the target 3D model. The method in this application can reduce storage overheads of 3D data content, and improve rendering efficiency of a 3D model.

摘要: Various approaches to performing non-divergent parallel traversal operations for a bounding volume hierarchy ("BVH") during ray tracing are presented. For example, a computer system has a processing unit with threads that, collectively, perform ray tracing for a group of rays in parallel in a computer-represented environment, which includes geometric objects (such as triangles) enclosed in the BVH. Each of the threads receives parameters for a given ray and traverses the BVH to determine an intersection, if any, between the given ray and one of the geometric objects. The order of traversal of the BVH is synchronized between threads for the rays of the group, for example, using a cross-group operation such as a ballot operation. In this way, the overall speed of the BVH traversal can be improved in many cases, while avoiding code divergence and data divergence in extra-wide single-instruction, multiple data ("SIMD") graphics processing unit ("GPU") architectures.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments include techniques for generating a clean 3D shape of a portion of the human torso of a subject from a 3D scan that includes overlaying surfaces that occlude a portion of the torso, where the overlaying surfaces are acoustically transparent, such as wrinkles on a t-shirt and/or other clothing surfaces. These techniques use heuristic constraints to generate a clean 3D shape of a human torso for the purpose of generating a more realistic head-related transfer function (HRTF) that is individualized for the subject. The improved HRTF, when applied to a sound system, leads to a more immersive and realistic acoustic experience for the subject when listening to music, experiencing a virtual reality experience, and/or the like.
