    摘要: A method for superimposed recording of a first signal and a second signal with frequency which is less than the frequency for the first signal, in a perpendicular magnetic recording medium by means of a ring-shaped magnetic head. The mutually superimposed first and second signals are supplied to the magnetic head. The value of the first signal current to be supplied to the magnetic head is set at a value which is greater than the current value for which the reproduced output level of the first signal that was recorded on the magnetic recording medium attains a maximum, and a satisfactory superimposed recording characteristic can be obtained by such an arrangement.

    摘要: To a substrate (2) consisting, for example, of AlMg5, a permalloy foil (3, 12) is applied by rolling, gluing or hot sealing. On top of the softmagnetic layer, a vertical recording layer (4) is applied. Thus, for example, an aluminium foil (22) may be applied on top of the permalloy foil by combining a permalloy and an aluminium foil (22) by rolling and by applying the composite foil (24) obtained to a substrate. Then the aluminium foil is anodized, forming vertically oriented pores extending down to the permalloy foil. By means of an electrochemical process, for example, magnetic material is filled into these pores which have a relatively small thickness compared to their length, so that the magnetic material is vertically oriented. The material used for the aluminium foil (22) is highly pure aluminium with an aluminium content of at least 99.999%.

    摘要: A uniformly distributed magnetic recording medium is carried on or in an initially fluidizable support. During or after magnetically writing information upon the medium, the support is changed to a fluidized state, sufficient to permit some physical translational movement of the medium in localized areas corresponding in pattern to characteristic magnetic non-uniformities caused in medium by the magnetic writing. The support is then set or otherwise converted to a state in which such movement is no longer possible. Thereafter, even if the medium is degaussed, the now set non-uniformities in physical distribution of the recording medium, will permit the information that had been magnetically written, to continue to be read e.g. by magnetic analysis of the medium..

    摘要: A perpendicular magnetic recording medium is fabricated based on R 21-60 (Fe 1-y Co y ) z M 0-10 wherein z is balance and at least 70 at % of R is Nd and/or Pr, the balance of R being one or more of other rare earth elements, and wherein y is less than 0.5 by atomic ratio. M is at least one of various additional metal elements. The Curie temperature Tc is between 70 to 250°C; the saturation magnetization Ms is about 450 emu/cc or more; the uniaxial perpendicular magnetic anisotropy constant Ku of 2.5 x 10 s erg/cc or more is attained. Kerr rotation angle is 0.3 degree or more, which provides a magneto-optic recording medium. Since light rare earth elements having the collinear alignment of magnetic moment with Fe are used as a key element, it is possible to fabricate uniform perpendicular magnetic anisotropy thin films in a mass production scale at a low cost.
