摘要： An electrical plug which has a body (12) including walling bounding a central cavity with an entrance to the cavity through which, in use, an electrical lead passes. The body (12) also includes two or more, usually three, blocks (26, 28) each with a blind, threaded bore (42) therein. Passages (48, 50) lead from the cavity into the bores (42), the passages (48, 50) opening through the cylindrical walls of the bores. Discs (56) of electrically conductive metal are retained in the closed ends of the bores (42) by circumferential ribs (54) protruding inwardly from the bore walls. Plug pins (14, 18) are screwed into the bores (42) to grip the bared ends of the individual electrical wires, which ends enter the bores (42) through the passages (48, 50) between themselves and the discs (56). A cover is provided for closing the cavity.

摘要： An electrical plug, particularly for domestic use for coupling appliances to socket outlet of a mains distribution system, is adapted to be fitted onto an appliance flex or cable without necessitating use of a screwdriver or other tool by virtue of being formed in two parts, namely a body portion (1) formed with terminal pins (4) insertable into the openings of a socket outlet and an insert (2) enterable into a recess (3) in the body portion (1). The insert (2) comprises a cable clamping arrangement (8) and conductor-receiving channels (10) formed with a right-angled bend and each leading to a termination member (19) in which a plunger (20) is axially movable against spring bias, the plungers (20) projecting from the front face of the insert (2). In the body portion (1) of the plug, the recess (3) has in its end wall three bores (18) located and dimensioned to accept the plungers (20) when the insert (2) is entered into the recess (3), and each bore (18) communicates with a terminal pad (17) coupled electrically to a respective one of the terminal pins (4). As the insert (2) is fully entered into the recess (3) in the plug body portion (1), the plungers (20) butt against the terminal pads (17) and are driven back against their spring bias and capture the conductor ends in the termination members (19).

摘要： An electric plug of a type for domestic use consists of a body portion (1) and an insert portion (2) which is enterable into a recess (3) within the body portion (1), the insert portion (2) being adapted for having the conductors of a cable assembled thereto as a first step in the connection of the plug to the cable and then being insertable into the recess (3) where insulation-piercing pins (5) make contact with the cable conductors to complete the connection. The plug body (1) has a projection (7) which is externally screw-threaded and co- operates with an internally screw-threaded drive nut (10) in providing a mechanical advantage to facilitate manual insertion of the insert portion (2) into the recess (3). The plug has the advantage of being connectable to a cable entirely without need for use of any tools.

摘要： An electrical connector in which a flexible wire (3) is placed into electrical connection with an electrically conducting terminal means (15) by means of a two-component wire trap, one component (2) of which is electrically connected to the said terminal means. The two components (1, 2) of the wire trap defines convex and concave members movable between relatively "open" and "closed" positions about a turning axis. A wire passage (7) receiving wire fed in endwise thereof, terminates between the two components in their "open" position. Thus, when an exposed end (3a) of a wire is passed along the wire passage it is trapped between the concave and convex members as the latter move into their "closed" position, the trapped wire being bent through a right angle or approximately a right angle between the end of the wire passage and its position in the "closed" wire trap. A connector for interconnecting in pairs the wires of two 3-wire cords is disclosed.
