    摘要: in order to realize an SAW filter withstanding high power, a plurality of single open-ended surface acoustic wave resonators (22-25) are connected in series, and an earth conductor (10) is disposed at least on a part of rear face of a piezoelectric substrate (8) constituting the surface acoustic wave resonators. And static capacities (26-31) formed between said earth conductor and electrode conductors on the piezoelectric substrate constituting the surface acoustic wave resonators are utilized as constituents of the filter circuit. In the above described structure, a part of input power is not converted into acoustic energy, but directly transmitted to the output side. Since the mechanical stress imposed upon the electrode material and the piezoelectric substrate is thus lightened, the SAW filter can withstand a large power signal.

    摘要: In an acoustic surface wave device employing an input and an output transducer (2, 3) and a multistrip coupler (5), the input and output tracks (11, 12) may have to be well separated to avoid unwanted acoustic energy transfer. As a result, a significant loss can occur from the launching of acoustic energy from the interconnecting conductors of the msc. In the improved device, the interconnecting conductors (22, 32') are given a spacing which is different from the, or the equivalent, wide-aperture beam spacing of conductors (16,17; 36', 37') in either track of the msc, and which must not be such as to launch any acoustic surface or bulk waves within the frequency passband. In a forward transfer msc different spacings can alternate, and in a reflective msc the spacing can take the mean of the respective equivalent wide-aperture-beam spacings of the coupler electrodes. When a reflective msc is used there is a risk of acoustic reflection from one track to the other causing spurious response effects, especially when single guided mode transducers are employed. This is overcome by inclining the connecting strips (32') to the perpendicular to the propagation direction.

    摘要: A surface acoustic wave device comprises a first set of interdigitated electrodes (14) that generates surface acoustic waves, a second set of intergiditated electrodes (18) that receives and converts surface acoustic waves into electrical signals, and an intermediate electromechanical coupling element (30). The coupling element comprises a plurality of parallel strips (32) formed on the surface of a piezoelectrical substrate such as to receive and change the direction of propagation of the surface acoustic waves, the parallel strips being spaced at a predetermined distance from each other and being selectively interconnected or left unconnected to obtain suitable stopband characteristics. In one arrangement (Figure 3) alternate pairs of adjacent strips of the coupling element are connected to a common connecting strip (31). In another arrangement (Figure 10) alternate strips of the coupling element are connected to a common connecting strip (41).

    摘要: A surface acoustic wave bandpass electrical filter consists of input and output interdigital transducers (IP, OP) with an interposed track changing multistrip array (MSA). A conventional broadband array (MSA) is divided into two sub-groups of strips with respect to a centre of symmetry (C) separated by different distances along the input track (T1) and the output track (T2) such that the amplitude-frequency response of the array (MSA) has a stopband centred on a predetermined frequency. If the input and output transducers (IP, OP) both have a double electrode configuration, electrode separation λo/4, providing a fundamental passband at a corresponding frequency fo and an equal amplitude passband at the third harmonic 3fo, then a separation difference of λo/6 between the sub-groups of the array (MSA) in the two tracks (T1, T2) can suppress the third harmonic passband in the filter output. The multistrip coupler may instead be divided into three sub-groups (Figure 5). The sub-groups of the multistrip array may be further sub-divided to suppress more than one frequency (Figure 7). Also a multistrip array arranged in groups to provide a shaped bandpass response may have each group divided into sub-groups to suppress a selected harmonic passband of the array (FigureS).

    摘要: A surface acoustical wave (SAW) filter is provided by placing at least one pair resonator channels consisting of reflectors (44, 48, 50, 54) and input and output transducers (56, 70) on the surface of a suitable substrate, such as a piezo-electric crystal. One channel of the pair consists of an input transducer (56) and an output transducer (70) which are aligned in a path along which the SAW progresses. The two channels are identical except that the separation distance between the transducers and the reflectors, in one channel is slightly different than the corresponding distance in the other channel. This separation difference serves to broaden the passband for applications which require a broader passband than is obtainable with a single channel resonator filter. Differential detection of the SAW in one section with respect to the other channel is achieved by using a symetrically inverted output transducer, in one embodiment. In another embodiment an offset transducer is used to accomplish the differential sensing.

    摘要: A surface-acoustic-wave filter of the multi-transducer type includes a plurality of input transducers (2) and a plurality of output transducers (3). These input and output transducers (2, 3) are alternately and parallelly disposed on a piezo-electric substrate (1) spaced apart by centre to centre distances ℓ1 to ℓn. Taking any one centre to centre distance as a reference distance ℓ1, the respective centre to centre distances ℓ1 through 4n are arranged to satisfy the following relationships:- where m1 is an arbitrary positive real number, m2 through mn are respectively arbitrary integers (0, ± 1, ± 2, ...), and λ is the wavelength of the surface-acoustic-wave. The surface-acoustic-wave filter provides a good filter characteristic having sufficient effective attenuation in the attenuation region without degrading the filter characteristics in the pass-band thereof.

Contiguous bands of frequencies F,, f 2 , f 3 , f 4 , may be reflected by individual related groups 26, 27, 28, 29, of uniformly spaced electrodes forming either a monotonic or a permutated sequence, or the spacing can be varied continuously and monotonically.
