Described is a module (1, 1a) for the treatment of fibres for obtaining a non-woven fabric. The module (1, 1a) comprises a fan unit (3) configured for generating a flow of air (4) through a closed path (5) and a chamber (6) for the treatment of the fibres positioned in fluid communication with the closed path (5), delimited on opposite sides by respective side panels (7a, 7b). Each side panel (7a, 7b) comprises a first gap (8) defining a blowing portion (S1) of the closed path (5) and a second gap (9) defining a suction portion (S2) of the closed path (5). Each side panel (7a, 7b) defines a branch of the closed path (5) which extends between the fan unit (3) and the treatment chamber (6). The module (1, 1a) also comprises a first platform (16) and a second platform (17) comprising respective first and second channels (16a, 17a) placed in fluid communication with the first gap (8) and second gap (9) of each side panel (7a, 7b) and with the treatment chamber (6) to define connecting portions of the closed path (5). The fan unit (3) is positioned equidistant relative to the treatment chamber (6) in such a way that the flow of air (4) is divided symmetrically between the branches of the closed path (5).

An apparatus and method for pre-shrinking a wet fabric prior to drying. The apparatus includes, among other components, a balloon extractor station and a hydro-sizer compression station. The balloon extractor station removes some water from the wet fabric. The hydro-sizer compression station is operatively connected to, and disposed downstream of, the balloon extractor station, and compresses the wet fabric in a lengthwise direction, and in so doing, pre-shrinks the wet fabric prior to drying. The method includes, among other steps, extracting some water from the wet fabric so as to faun a hydro-extracted and wet fabric, compressing lengthwise the hydro-extracted and wet fabric so as to form a compacted and wet fabric that is now pre-shrunk prior to drying, and drying the compacted and wet fabric so as to form a compacted and dry fabric.

The present invention relates to a method of producing a coating liquid impregnated sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle formed by applying a coating liquid to a sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle that is unidirectionally arranged continuous reinforcing fibers long in one direction. A problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a production method and a coating device of a coating liquid impregnated sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle, wherein the method and device can effect continuous running without clogging of generated fuzz even at a high running speed and effect efficient impregnation of a coating liquid into the sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle. The present invention is a method of producing a coating liquid impregnated sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle 1b, including allowing a sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle 1a, which is unidirectionally arranged reinforcing fibers 1, to pass substantially vertically downward through the inside of a coating section 20 storing a coating liquid 2, whereby the method provides the sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle 1a with the coating liquid 2; wherein the coating section 20 includes a liquid pool and a narrowed section which are in communication with each other; wherein the liquid pool has a portion whose cross-sectional area decreases continuously along a running direction of the sheet-like reinforcing fiber bundle 1a, and wherein the narrowed section has a slit-like cross-section and has a smaller cross-sectional area than the top side of the liquid pool.
