Including a defibrator 160 that defibrates feedstock containing fiber and produces defibrated material; feedstock supply units 101 and 102 that supply the feedstock to the defibrator 160; a monitoring device 135; and cleaning devices 170A and 170B. The feedstock supply units 101 and 102 include a vibratory linear feeder 120 for conveying feedstock; a storage hopper 140 that supplies feedstock to the defibrator 160; a load cell 142 and a timing device 145 that measure states of the feedstock stored in the storage hopper 140. When the feedstock conveyance speed of the feedstock supply units 101 and 102 becomes slower than during normal operation, the monitoring device 135 activates the cleaning devices 170A and 170B, and the cleaning devices 170A and 170B execute on at least one of the vibratory linear feeder 120 and storage hopper 140 a cleaning process that preemptively prevents stopping of conveyance.
