    摘要: Aqueous coating composition for optical brightening and shading of substrates comprising (a) at least one optical brightener of formula (I) in which the anionic charge on the brightener is balanced by a cationic charge composed of one or more identical or different cations selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkali metal cation, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, ammonium which is mono-, di-, tri- or tetrasubstituted by a C1-C4 linear or branched alkyl radical, ammonium which is mono-, di-, tri- or tetrasubstituted by a C1-C4 linear or branched hydroxyalkyl radical, ammonium which is, di-, tri- or tetrasubstituted by a mixture of C1-C4 linear or branched alkylradical and linear or branched hydroxyalkyl radical or mixtures of said compounds, R1 and R1′ may be the same or different, and each is hydrogen, C1-C4 linear or branched alkyl, C2-C4 linear or branched hydroxyalkyl, CH2CO2−, CH2CH2CONH2 or CH2CH2CN, R2 and R2′ may be the same or different, and each is C1-C4 linear or branched alkyl, C2-C4 linear or branched hydroxyalkyl, CH2CO2−, CH(CO2−)CH2CO2−, CH(CO2−)CH2CH2CO2−, CH2CH2SO3−, CH2CH2CO2−, CH2CH(CH3)CO2−, benzyl, or R1 and R2 and/or R1′ and R2′, together with the neighboring nitrogen atom signify a morpholine ring and p is 0, 1 or 2, (b) at least one shading dye of formula (II) in which R3 signifies H, methyl or ethyl, R4 signifies paramethoxyphenyl, methyl or ethyl, M signifies a cation selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkali metal cation, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, ammonium which is mono-, di-, tri- or tetrasubstituted by a C1-C4 linear or branched alkyl radical, ammonium which is mono-, di-, tri- or tetrasubstituted by a C1-C4 linear or branched hydroxyalkyl radical, ammonium which is, di-, tri- or tetrasubstituted by a mixture of C1-C4 linear or branched alkylradical and linear or branched hydroxyalkyl radical or mixtures of said compounds, (c) at least one white pigment, (d) at least one primary binder, (e) optionally one or more secondary binders and (f) water.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for the bleaching of chemical pulp and the use of a bleaching solution. According to the invention the pulp is treated in a plurality of different steps by using at least in one step a bleaching solution which contains a peracid, and the essential idea of the invention is that the peracid is used in a post-bleaching which is the last step of the bleaching process, the post-bleaching being carried out in the presence of one or more earth-alkali metal compounds. By using a peracid the pulp is brought to its final brightness, and the purpose of the earth-alkali metal added is to combat the lowering of the viscosity of the pulp. According to the invention the post-bleaching can be carried out after the bleach plant steps in a pulp flow pipe, a storage tower or in the paper machine at a paper mill.

    摘要: Paper is formed from typically cellulose fibres which have a tendency to become discoloured during processing. Thus, in order to provide good quality white paper, it is necessary to bleach that paper to limit biological activity and remove discolouration. Of concern with respect to this particular invention is also the requirement to add so-called optical brightness agents (OBA). These optical brightness agents essentially fluoresce in daylight in order to give the impression of pure white colour even though the underlying fibres are still yellow white after bleaching. Optical brightness agents are expensive and therefore the present invention provides a composition which reduces the proportion of OBA agent necessary to achieve desired base point increases in paper quality. The composition comprises peroxyacetic acid or peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide in the relative proportions whereby the fibre surface is processed in order to be more receptive to the activities of OBA and therefore, provide greater paper quality improvement relative to the relative volume of OBA added.
