    摘要: The present application relates to a storage tank, comprising a tank floor, one or more tank walls and a tank roof, wherein a spacer is arranged on the tank floor, wherein a detection area is defined between the spacer and the floor, which the detection area is connected to detection means. Preferably the spacer is a profiled sheet, for example produced from stainless steel or synthetic material.
    The profiling preferably consists of substantially half spherical elevations and recesses made in the sheet, wherein the recesses rest on the tank floor and the elevations form the roof of the detection area. A protective layer may be arranged on the spacer.
    The invention further relates to a method for detecting leakages in the floor of storage tanks by measuring the changes in a detection area formed between the tank floor and a spacer arranged thereon.
