    摘要: A film trap and gate assembly (24) for use on a motion picture projector (10). The film trap (26) includes an image aperture (60) and a first and second trap rail assembly (64A, 64B). The film trap further includes a stripper plate (72) having an angled stripper blade (94) attached to an attachment flange (92). The stripper blade is attached to the attachment flange at an at least one degree angle, preferably biased towards the trap body (58). The film gate (28) includes a projection aperture (54) and a first and second gate rail assembly (104A, 104B). A film tensioning assembly (110) is attached to the gate body (100), the film tensioning device having a deformable body (112) disposing at least two tensioning rollers (118; 120), and an adjustable tensioning device. When assembled, the film trap and gate assembly (24) forms a film movement channel to guide the film (14) past an illumination source (30), while reducing the contact between the film strip (14) and the film trap and gate assembly (24). Consequently, the number of showing of a motion picture film is substantially increased.

    摘要: A movie film image projecting device wherein a movie film is intermittently stopped in a manner synchronized with rotation of a sprocket by means of travel-synchronizing holes (10) which have been formed longitudinally with respect to the movie film and a light from a light source is projected on a stated region of the movie film at a stopped base position. Detectors (11, 12) for detecting at a plurality of locations the displacement of the film (1) from the base position at the time the movie film has stopped, on the basis of the travel-synchronizing holes (10), output a different position detection signal corresponding to the deviation of the film (1) from the base position at each of the plurality of locations. An abnormality judging circuit (53) supplied with the position detection signals determines whether or not the position detection signals are abnormal and outputs an abnormality detection signal for each of the position detection signals which is determined to be abnormal. An optical axis correcting unit (8, 14) supplied with the position detection signals and the abnormality detection signals then corrects the optical axis of light transmitted through the movie film on the basis of the position detection signals which are judged by the abnormality judging means (53) to be not abnormal.

    摘要: A perforated filmstrip transportation and registration system (100) and method provide a substrate in the form of a rotating drum (104) with vacuum holes (106) to allow an internally produced vacuum to act upon an engaged filmstrip (102). The rotating drum (104) has a number of registration-tension pin pair assemblies (216) that register and subsequently advance a filmstrip (102) at the 3 o'clock position in a registration mode (Figures 2 and 3), and are ready to be inserted in filmstrip perforations (208) when they approach the 3 o'clock position in a load mode (Figure 4). The registration-tension pin pair assemblies (216) each contain a registration pin (220) and a tension pin (230) which are sized small enough to fit into filmstrip perforations (208) without interference, and which move away and towards each other in the nature of scissors blades in the preferred embodiment. In the registration mode, a side of the registration pin (220) rests against a side of one perforation, while the tension pin (230) engaged in an adjacent perforation, places the filmstrip (102) in tension by moving away from the registration pin (220). In the load mode, the tension pin (230) moves toward the registration pin (220) so that distance therebetween allows both pins to be easily inserted into prospective adjacent filmstrip perforations (208). In the preferred embodiment, the registration and tension pins (220, 230) are part of pin bodies (222, 232) which are spring loaded and activated via interaction with cam surfaces (260, 262).

The filmstrip has a main portion adjoining the leading portion. The camera frame assembly has a frame which has a film return chamber configured to receive the film holder, a film roll chamber spaced apart from the film return chamber, and a midsection extending between the chambers. The midsection has an exposure opening and a pair of film guide surfaces adjoining the exposure opening. The film guide surfaces define a film path between the chambers. A holdfast is joined in fixed relation to the midsection adjacent the film roll chamber. The holdfast extends outward from the midsection toward the film path. The holdfast is fully outside the film path. The holdfast engages the grip when the filmstrip is in a first position. The holdfast is spaced from the filmstrip when the filmstrip is in a second position, in which the main portion is disposed against the film guide surfaces and extends from one of the chambers to the other.
