The container (193) can hold multiple types of test elements in compartments or slots (200). Through sensing of a test element position in its slot, the detection mechanism of the invention provides for random access to multiple types of test elements in a sleeve (193), and provides efficient inventory control. The method increases the number of test element types that may be loaded onto an analyzer and maintains fast determination of inventory.

The compliance monitor includes a housing adapted to enclose the medicament delivery device, and a dose counter, associated with the housing, for recording the delivery of a dose of medicament to the patient from the medicament delivery device. The arrangement and construction is such that the housing is loosely coupled to the medicament delivery device, whereby the housing is able to move relative to the medicament delivery device during the delivery of the dose of medicament, and it is this movement which actuates the dose counter, either directly or indirectly, in order to record the delivery of the dose of medicament.

The invention relates to a counting mechanism (2) for counting the number of spray doses, for example in combination with spray dose inhalers. A counting mechanism according to the invention comprises a cap (7), a counting wheel (8), and a control wheel (9), all of which have a substantially circular shape, are concentric in relation to each other and, upon each spraying, are acted upon via a rod-shaped pin (32), which is arranged at right angles to the inner surface of the control wheel (9) and is connected to the control wheel (9) via a spring member (33), such that a dosing step is counted by the counting mechanism (2). The counting mechanism (2) has a minimal effect on the spray flow and on the dose size of the sprayed substance since only the rod-shaped pin (32) is introduced into the spray channel.

An apparatus for collecting and transmitting the data of votes includes a central server S connected through a mobile phone network C to a plurality of n portable units U located one in each polling station. Each portable unit U includes a keyboard, a display, a memory and a digital transceiver system and is directly programmed by server S according to the operational coordinates transmitted to the server upon activation of the unit. During the counting process, the user only has to strike the key corresponding to the value of the scrutinized ballot and as soon as the counting session is completed he can send immediately to server S the relevant results. Thanks to this method of centralized programmation and automatic vote counting, both the risks of errors and the time required for collecting and forwarding the data are greatly reduced.

In der erfindungsgemäßen Anordnung zum Zählen von Bewegungen in einem Werkzeug erfolgt das Zählen mittels elektronischer Schalteinrichtungen derart, dass in einem einzigen Gehäuse 1 ein Vorwahlzähler 2 als ein addierender Summenzähler, ein Zyklenzähler 3 als ein addierender Mengenzähler und ein subtrahierender Intervallzähler 4 vereinigt sind und dass mittels des Infrarot-Handsenders 5 jeder einzelne Zähler 2;3;4 abrufbar oder einstellbar zu betätigen ist.
