    Abstract: PURPOSE:To adequately control the damping force in response to the vibration of a vehicle by changing the damping force of a shock absorber to a larger value if the vertical acceleration of the vehicle is the preset value or less at the predetermined time when the vertical movement of the vehicle body is displaced in the neutral ground clearance direction. CONSTITUTION:Means M1, M2 detecting the vertical movement of a vehicle body and the vertical acceleration of a wheel below a spring respectively are provided. A means M3 changing the damping force of a shock absorber arranged between the vehicle body and a wheel via a command from the outside is also provided. A control means M4 is provided outputting a command to change the damping force to a larger value if the vertical acceleration detected by the means M2 is the preset value or less at the predetermined time when the vertical movement of the vehicle body detected by the means M1 is displaced in the neutral ground clearance direction. Accordingly, the damping force of the shock absorber is switched to a larger value in every half cycle in response to the cycle of the spring vibration to improve comfortableness to ride.

An electronic control circuit 30 control the inflow control valve 10 in accordance with output signals from an acceleration sensor 20 for detecting the vertical acceleration of the vehicle body 2 and a suspended part relative sped and displacement sensor 21. That is, a pattern of displacement of the suspended section with which the suspended section is returned to its most extended or retracted position to its neutral position, is set, and a required flow rate is obtained from the above-mentioned pattern in order to control the opening degree of the control valve f10 after the suspended section reaches its most extended position.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the time from the time point at which a vehicle body vertically oscillates to the time point at which the vehicle body returns to its neutral vehicle height level, by decreasing the damping force of a shock absorber until the midway of return of the vehicle body to its neutral vehicle height level, and by increasing the damping force after the midway of the return. CONSTITUTION:A means M1 detects the vertical motion of a vehicle body. Further a means M2 changes the damping force of a shock absorber disposed between the vehicle body and the wheel in accordance with an instruction fro the outside. During a predetermined time during which the vertical motion of the vehicle body detected by the means M1 changes in the direction toward the neutral vehicle height level, a means M3 delivers a signal for changing the damping force into a large value, to the means M3. With this arrangement the damping force of the shock absorber is held at a small value until the midway of return oscillation in which the vehicle body is moved from the neutral vehicle height level and is then moved back to the neutral vehicle height level so that the oscillation of the vehicle body is rapidly settled. Meanwhile after the midway of the return, the damping force is increased to restrain the oscillation of the vehicle body.

When the acceleration detected by the acceleration detecting means M2 exceeds a predetermined value, a command to change a damping force to a larger value is sent from a control means M5 to the said changing means M4 during a predetermined period after the predetermined value is exceeded until the vehicle body M1 reaches a neutral position against the wheels M3. Accordingly, if acceleration of a predetermined value or more is generated on the vehicle body M1 due to ruggedness of a road, the vehicle height is quickly returned to a predetermined neutral position.
