摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVR with the ability to receive multimedia content via a network connection, and a method to efficiently broadcast multimedia content to multiple DVRs across the network without overloading a content server.SOLUTION: A content server creates a schedule of transmission times for data streams and assigns the streams to multicast groups. DVRs receive the schedule that contains content descriptions for each data stream along with the transmission times of each particular content description from the content server. The content server transmits the content across the Internet according to the published schedule. Each DVR joins the associated multicast group. The DVR receives the multicast stream for the group and stores the stream on its local storage device.

摘要: An IP broadcast transmitting device comprises means for acquiring and collecting channel tuning information and program-related information from broadcast signals of each broadcasting station from which the broadcast signals are distributed, means for updating and managing the information, means for distributing the information independently from IP multicast-distributions of the broadcast signals, and means for distributing a service area tuning list with IP multicast-distribution information of the broadcast signals and distribution positions of the channel tuning information and the program-related information of the broadcast signals described therein.
