    摘要: PURPOSE:To allow easy and highly accurate measurement of the axial gap of a bearing by sucking fluid through the gap between the opposing end faces of a pair of inner rings pressed in the axial direction and held in place and then detecting the back pressure, flow rate or current velocity thereof. CONSTITUTION:A bearing is applied to the shaft part 4a of a lower shaft holding member 4 located at a lower end and the lower shaft is lifted to hold a pair of inner rings 2 while pressing in the axial direction. The lower shaft is rotated under that state to settle the inner rings 2 and a fluid sucking means 5 sucks fluid (air) through a gap 2a between the opposing end faces of the inner rings 2 and a shaft hole 4d of the member 4 and then a measuring means 6 measures the back pressure, flow rate or current velocity. Since the back pressure, flow rate and current velocity of the suction means 5 vary in predetermined correlation to the variation of the axial dimension (h) of the gap 2a, the axial dimension (h) of the gap 2a can be determined based on the back pressure, flow rate or current velocity. This constitution allows accurate while reducing the error and realizes convenient measuring work while facilitating the automation.

CONSTITUTION:A space 6 corresponding to a prescribed axial direction space is formed between the small end surfaces 8a of a pair of inner wheels. A pair of inner wheels 8 is fastened till the volume of the space delta becomes 0, namely, till fastening torque is increased rapidly, by means of pressure-in of the inner wheels and fastening of a fixed nut, and a pre-load of a bearing is set. Initial space of the bearing has a relative relation with back pressure of air discharged from the space 6, and the back pressure is measured so as to manage negative space with good accuracy. It is thus possible to improve rigidity of a wheel bearing and reduce the level of vibration on a hub surface even if a large moment load is applied. And also it is possible to improve rigidity of the bearing while maintaining the rotating life of the bearing.
