    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-liquid contact type air purifier which confers credible sterilizing and deodorant effect to circulation water by adding an appropriate amount of chlorine dioxide to the circulation water and controls the concentration of chlorine dioxide gas in purified air within a desired range. SOLUTION: The air purifier comprises an injection nozzle for spraying stabilized chlorine dioxide added circulation water, a gas-liquid contact area where water screen formed by the injection nozzle and air to be purified contact with each other, an ultraviolet radiation means arranged within the gas-liquid contact area for activating the chlorine dioxide component within the water screen, and a chlorine dioxide gas concentration detection means and a gas concentration indication regulator arranged near a purified air discharge port. The concentration of chlorine dioxide gas within the purified air is controlled by controlling the operation state of the ultraviolet radiation means in accordance with a first output signal of the gas concentration detection means and also by controlling a circulation water pressurization pump in accordance with a second output signal of the gas concentration detection means.
