Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module in which breakage of a hollow fiber membrane and a bundling tube due to expansion and contraction of the hollow fiber membrane caused by change of external environment such as temperature change can be effectively prevented.SOLUTION: In a hollow fiber membrane module in which a bundling tube is formed of a body section and head sections, that are located at both ends thereof, and O-rings for installing the bundling tube inside a housing are fitted on outer circumferential surfaces of the head sections, at least one of the head sections has a structure where the head section is divided into two while preserving a cylinder at a bundling tube end side and divided portions are able to slide while maintaining a connected state of the cylinder.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure fuel pump equipped with a seal system capable of using under high speed, high pressure and fuel oil-resistant conditions. SOLUTION: This high pressure fuel pump is provided with the sealing system 21 for separating and sealing fuel and lubricating oil which are sealing targets in an annular space between a shaft reciprocating in the pump and a housing into which the shaft is inserted; the sealing system 21 comprises the combination of a fuel side seal 31 for sealing the fuel and a lubricating oil side seal 41 for sealing the lubricating oil; the fuel side seal 31 comprises a resin seal ring 32, and a rubber-like elastic body O ring 33 for backing up the seal ring 32; and the lubricating oil side seal 41 comprises an oil seal 42 single body of a single lip type for arranging a rubber-like elastic body seal lip 44 fitted to a metal ring 43 to the lubricating oil side. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin-made lip type seal being a plate-like lip bent centered on a point A of a tip of a substantially wedge-shaped recessed part and capable of reducing rigidity, reducing stress concentration at the point A to improve safety rate for destruction, suppressing reduction of sealing property due to reduction of creep, and improving following-up property for axis eccentricity. SOLUTION: Cut-in parts are formed on a slide-contact face 41 or/and an anti-slide-contact face 42 of the plate-like lip 4. A cut-in part 7 is also formed on an inclined slide-contact face 21 of an inner peripheral lip 2. A ratio of a part in which the cut-in part 7 is formed to surface area of the lip is 1/2 or more. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the humidifying performance, make constant the stress loaded on a housing between end faces of an off gas introducing hole and a humidified gas exhaust hole with respect to the compression force and tensile force loaded in a housing long axis direction, inhibit buckling and deformation, prevent the gas leak and alleviation of gas distribution, and prevent the damage of the housing. SOLUTION: The hollow yarn membrane module is characterized by comprising a cylindrical housing 11, a hollow yarn membrane stored in the housing 11, a plurality of offgas introducing holes 12 formed in the circumferential direction of the housing 11, having the same width in the circumferential direction of the housing 11, varying in the width in the long axis direction of the housing 11 to change the opening areas, and a plurality of humidified gas exhaust holes 13 formed in the circumferential direction of the housing 11, having the same width in the circumferential direction of the housing and the varying width in the long axis direction of the housing 11 to change the opening areas. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier wherein a hollow yarn membrane module can be mounted and dismounted with ease. SOLUTION: An end section 11, which is one of both ends 11 and 12 of the hollow yarn membrane module 10 to be mounted on the humidifier 1 and is mounted on a base material 20, is formed with a male thread on its external peripheral face. The base material 20 is provided with a recessed section 21 into which the end section 11 is inserted. The internal peripheral face of the recessed section 21 is formed with a female thread. The end section 12 to be mounted on a base material 30 has an external peripheral face not formed with a male thread. The base material 30 is provided with a recessed section into which the end section 12 is to be inserted. The internal peripheral face is also not formed with a male thread. In mounting the module 10 on both of the base materials 20 and 30, the end section 11 of the module 10 is inserted into the recessed section 21 while being threaded, and then the other end section 12 is pressed into the recessed section of the base material 30. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module having a smooth surface formed at the time of molding, which is easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: Since a mold not having a positioning part or connection part provided heretofore and molding the axial region of the whole periphery of a module case 2 can be demolded from a unidirectional opening end by providing a frame 3 surrounding hollow fiber membrane bundles 4 inside the module case 2, the cylindrical module case 2 has a uniform wall thickness for obtaining a smooth surface and the smooth surface is obtained at the time of molding to facilitate the production of the module case 2 and the external peripheral shape of the module case 2 can be made circular to enable the effective utilization of a space.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifying cartridge which is small-sized and has simple structure and in which granular activated carbon can be used and water can be purified satisfactorily by activated carbon treatment. SOLUTION: A housing chamber 23 for housing the granular activated carbon 3 is arranged on the upstream side of a flow path in the circular gap between an inside case part 21 and an outside case part 22. An introduction port 23a is arranged on one end side of the chamber 23 for introducing the untreated water into the chamber 23 and a discharge port 23b is arranged on the other end side for discharging the activated carbon-treated water to an intermediate chamber 24. Another introduction port 21a is arranged on the side surface of the part 21 for introducing the activated carbon-treated water, which is discharged to the chamber 24, into the part 21.

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a high-quality U-shaped bundle of hollow-fiber membrane reduced in breakage at a low cost in high yield by mechanically bending the membrane instead of the handwork of an operator and to furnish the winder and fiber feeder of simple structure utilized in the process without need for an intricate synchronous system. CONSTITUTION: The winding and shaping machine for producing a bundle of hollow-fiber membrane is provided with a winding bobbin 23 revolving at a constant speed, a tension controller 32 for absorbing the variation of the traveling speed of the membrane and a feeder 41 for feeding a fiber 27 wound on a complete winding bobbin 42 by a guide member 45 arranged rotatably around the bobbin 42 in the axial direction of the bobbin 42 through the guide member 45.
