Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a hollow fiber membrane cartridge while cleaning performance is maintained by filling active carbon in an opening inside a case. SOLUTION: A hollow fiber film cartridge 1 contains a hollow fiber membrane 3 in a cylindrical case 2. The case 2 is formed on a material of, for example, ABS resin or the like. As to the hollow fiber membrane 3, each of a plurality of linear hollow fiber membranes is bent so as to face to a flowout side W1, arranged in a bundle in the case 2, and only the hollow part thereof is exposed outside by potting 4. As the hollow fiber membrane 3, for example, a porous hollow fiber film is used, and as the material, for example, a fluoroplastic or the like of PFA or the like is used. A filling factor in the case 2 of the hollow fiber membrane 3 is at most about 55%, and a dead space of at least 45% is generated. Then, the active carbon 5 is filled into the dead space. Though the active carbon 5, other than fibrous one, granular and powder carbon or the like, is not especially limited, for example, the fibrous active carbon is dissolved in water, and flowed into the case 2 from an inflow side WO, and the active carbon 5 is filled in the dead space.
