PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reusing method, enabling a detection means to satisfactory exhibit a function when reusing a component of an image forming apparatus and a detection means for detecting a state of the component for the other image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In a state where the component and the detection means are mounted on a first image forming apparatus, a predetermined process line speed of the first image forming apparatus is switched to a process line speed of a second image forming apparatus, when the component is in an initial state, to operate the apparatus. A detection output of the detection means is measured under the switched process line speed. Information for detection output of the detection means under the process line speed of the second image forming apparatus obtained from the measurement result is stored. In a state where the component and the detection means are mounted on the second image forming apparatus, the information stored in a storage means is read. The detection output of the detection means is adjusted to a detection output corresponding to the process line speed of the second image forming apparatus based on the read information. SOLUTION: In the maintenance billing system, the occurrence of an abnormal state in a color copier is predicted by judging the abnormal state such as a failure in the color copier by a state judging apparatus 1. The color copier maintenance charge is stored in a storage apparatus of the maintenance billing apparatus 600 while relating to an apparatus ID for specifying the color copier. The maintenance charge of the system is determined according to the number and the kind of sensors related to the prediction accuracy of the occurrence of the abnormal state by the state judging apparatus. Thus, regarding the system, the maintenance charge corresponding to the prediction accuracy of the state judging apparatus for predicting the occurrence of the abnormal state in the color copier is managed for every color copier, and the reasonable maintenance charge is collected from the user.
