Abstract:
A method of producing an endodontic file that involves grinding in a plane substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of a rotating dental instrument blank. By grinding the dental instrument blank in this manner, the torsional strength of the resulting endodontic file is not eroded during its production, thereby providing a file that is less susceptible to breakage during its use.
Abstract:
A superelastic endodontic such (11), is formed by grinding a superelastic wire (8) to form a file preform or blank (12), and rotating a first end of the blank (12) while preventing rotation of a second end of the blank (12), The file blank (12) is maintained in the austenite phase at least until twisted to form a stress induced martensite which is plastically deformed by the twisting. A heat treatment step may be performed prior to twisting, during twisting or after twisting of the preform or blank, (12), The file blank (12) may be heated by electrical heating methods or by the blank in a heated liquid (234).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a formed cutter which has a high flexibility in machining a rake face, which can optionally set the rake angle, and which can prevent interference of an adjacent blade and an grinding tool in grinding the rake face, and also to provide a grinding tool for the formed cutter.SOLUTION: A formed cutter 1 has, at the tip side, a blade part 2 in which a spiral cutting part 6 and a spiral flute 8 are alternately formed. The blade part 2 rotates centering on a rotation axis O, thereby performing cutting. The formed cutter 1 is manufactured by a step in which a projection part 6A and a depression part 6B, which have different diameters, are formed on a blade forming member 12 along the rotation axis O, a step in which the spiral flute 8 is formed on the blade forming member 12; and a step in which a grinding tool 18 is brought into line contact with the sidewall of the spiral flute 8 along the depth direction of the spiral flute 8 while the grinding tool 18 is rotated around the axial center thereof, thereby forming a rake face 4 on the sidewall of the spiral flute 8.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a threaded fastener with longitudinal grooves. SOLUTION: A five-spindle fluting machine includes a drum assembly 30 rotated by a driving mechanism 32. A threaded pin blank is supplied from a vibratory feed bowl 20, and the finished pin with longitudinal grooves is discharged from a chute 36. The drum assembly is inclined. The drum assembly is stopped at four positions of a supply station, a grinding station, an eject station and an idle station, where required operations are performed. Forming the longitudinal grooves to the threaded pin blank is performed by simultaneously grinding five longitudinal grooves by a grinder assembly having five grinders 182 circularly disposed. Such a series of operations is automatically and efficiently performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
