    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface treating agent which can impart an excellent water repellency and an excellent capability for causing water drops to fall down to many kinds of substrate by using, as the essential ingredient, a fluorine- contg. organosilico compd. having a specified chemical structure and/or a hydrolyzate thereof. SOLUTION: The fluorine-contg. organosilicon compd. is represented by the formula: (RA)x (R )y Si(X )2 (wherein RA is RH-A -B -; RH is a 1-20C alkyl; A is a 1-20C polyfluoroalkylene optionally contg. ether oxygen atoms; B is a divalent org. group; R is H, a monovalent hydrocarbon group, a movovalent halohydrocarbon group, or the like; X is OH, a 1-6C alkoxy, a halogen, isocyanate, amino, or amido; (x) is 1-3; (y) is 0-2; and (z) is 1-3). When the compd. is hydrolyzed in the presence of an acid, nitric acid, for example, is used in an amt. of 0.005-10 wt.% of water. Pref., an org. solvent (e.g. an alcoholic solvent) is caused to be present.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve water repellent property and contamination preventing property by a method wherein outermost layers of surface-treated layers of a base material having two layers or more of surface-treated layers are obtained by treating by a surface treating agent containing a specified compound while lower layers of the outermost layers are obtained by treating with a surface treating agent containing a specified compound and Si(NCO)4 . SOLUTION: In a base material, applied for the exterior member of tram car, motorcar or the like such as the external plate, window glass and the like, and an interior member for the surface member of dash board and the like, and having two layers or more of surface-treated layers, the outermost layer of the surface treated layers or a first layer is formed by treating it through a surface treating agent containing the essential constituents of compound B shown by a formula (R )c (R )d Si(NCO)4-c-d . On the other hand, the lower layer of the outermost layer or a second layer is formed by treating through surface treating agent, containing the essential constituents of a compound A, shown by a formula (R )a (R )b Si(Z)4-a-b and Si(NCO)4 . In the formulas, R , R are organic groups, R , R are hydrogen atoms or organic groups, Z is an isocyanate group or the like.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic powder-treating agent consisting of a specific compound having isocyanate group as an active ingredient, imparting excellent water and oil repelling properties to a powder at an ambient temperature, binding to the powder in a high density and with a high strength and capable of imparting enduring properties to various capacities of the powder. SOLUTION: This cosmetic powder-treating agent uses a compound of formula I and/or II [A is a monovalent organic group containing >=2 F; R is H or a 1-16C monovalent organic group not containing F; B is a divalent linking group; (a) is 1, 2; (b) is 0, 1 and (a+b) is >=1 and , A are each a monovalent organic group containing >=2 F; R , R are each H or a 1-16C monovalent organic group not containing F; B , B are each a divalent linking group; (c), (d) are each 0-2 and (c+d) is >=0 and =0 and is a polyfluoroalkylene; (q) is 1-6] is preferable. The powder treated with the treating agent is excellent in touch feeling and practical use.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be good at low reflectivity, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, weatherability, stainproofing properties and to make the effects of them continue semipermanently by a method in which an air side outermost layer has holes in the layer and flat parts and recessed parts on the surface, and the flat parts have surface roughness of not more than a specified value and an area ratio of not less than a specified value. SOLUTION: A laminate has a substrate 1 and one or more layers which are formed on the substrate 1. The coat of an air side outermost layer is formed by the pyrolysis-volatilization, solvent volatilization, etc., of a thermodegradable resin and has holes 11 in which air parts exist in the coat, recessed parts 12 which are formed by the pyrolysis of the resin on the surface, and flat parts 14 outside the recessed part 12 on the surface. The flat parts 14 has surface roughness Ra of not more than 3nm and an area ratio of not less than 20%. The coat, for example, is formed by a method in which a treating agent containing fine polymer particles of 0.01-0.20μm average particle size, a reactive compound having a metal atom linking with an isocyanate group and/or hydrolyzable group, and a diluent is applied and heat-treated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve water repellency, resistance to abrasion and the like by a method wherein a first layer is formed by treating a treating agent, containing a compound capable of forming a surface having a specified value of contact angle with respect to water, while a second layer is constituted of a heat resistant polymeric thin film layer obtained by treating with treating agent containing a compound, capable of forming the heat resistant polymeric thin film, and fine polymeric particles. CONSTITUTION:A first layer or the outermost layer of a surface treated layer is constituted by treating with a treating agent containing a compound capable of forming a surface having the value of contact angle of 70 degrees or more with respect to water. A second layer or a lower layer of the first layer is constituted of a heat resistant polymeric thin film layer 2, formed by heating a thin film, obtained by treating with a treating agent containing a compound capable of forming the heat resistant polymeric thin film and fine polymeric particles, to thermally decompose the polymeric fine particles. This compound, capable of forming a surface having the value o contact angle of 70 degrees or more, is essential constituent for developing repellency as well as contamination preventing properties and reactive silane compound is effective. The second layer improves the durability of the first layer remarkably and increases adhesive property to a substrate 3.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the base material or article for transportation equipment excellent in water droplet repellency. CONSTITUTION:This articles for transportation equipment is the base material surface-treated with an isocyanate silane compd. or consists of the surface- treated base material. A glass excellent in visuality is appropriately used as the base material, and the pane or mirror is exemplified as the article for transportation equipment. Since the article has excellent water droplet repellency, resistance to wear and chemical and weatherability, its effect is semipermanently maintained. Accordingly, the articles are most satisfactorily used even under severe conditions.
