PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon-containing layer for an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high mechanical strength, improved electrophotographic properties and improved image erasing properties at high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION: The silicon-containing layer contains a silicon-containing compound and an antioxidant selected from a hindered phenol antioxidant, a hindered amine antioxidant, a thio-ether antioxidant and a phosphite antioxidant. PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body enhanced in char acteristics bearing repeated uses without impairing sensitivity and superior in storage stability by incorporating a compound having an intramolecular ammonium salt in the electrophotographic sensitive body provided with a layer containing an electrostatic charge generating material on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body provided with the layer containing the charge generating material incorporates the compound having the intramolecular ammonium salt, preferably, one of the compounds represented by general formula I-IV in which R1 is alkylene or phenylene; each of R2-R4 is H, alkyl, or aryl; X is an anion; each of R5 and R6 is cycloalkyl; R7 is H or alkyl; each of R6-R10 is cross-linked cycloalkyl; each of R11-R15 is H, alkyl, or aryl and each may form optionally substituted rings at >=2 optional sites.

PURPOSE:To enhance printing resistance, etc., by incorporating a combination of an ozone quencher and a singlet oxygen quencher in the photosensitive layer contg. a photoconductor and a dye sensitizier in an electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The titled-stated electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by mixing (A) a photoconductor, such as zinc oxide or TiO2, (B) a dye sensitizer, such as rose Bengal or eosin, (C) a binder medium, such as acrylic or epoxy resin, (D) an ozone quencher in an amt. of 0.1-100mol per mol of (B), such as 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenol, and (E) a singlet oxygen quencher in an amt. of 0.1-100mol of (B), a such as alpha-tocophenol or beta-carotene; dispersing the components of (A), (B), (D), and (E) into the component (C); and coating a support with this dispersion to form a photosensitive layer.
