    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for hydraulically expanding tubular members such as heat transfer tubes or sleeves in nuclear steam generators. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a ribbed bladder 330 for radially expanding a tube 70 or sleeve 155 inserted into the tube, a pressurizing means 170 for supplying pressurized hydraulic fluid to the bladder in order to expand the bladder into intimate engagement with the sleeve and/or tube, a controller 180 for controllably operating the pressurizing means and fluid supply reservoirs 190, 191. Since the bladder has a ribbed structure, the bladder is largely expanded in the radial direction without being ruptured and moreover the tube and/or sleeve are expanded over the length in the relatively short axial direction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture a duplex tube having corrosion resistance and wear resistance in which advantages from both a thermal tube expansion method and an circular thermal reduction method are utilized. CONSTITUTION:An external tube 1 and an internal tube 2 are relatively superposed, a low temperature liquid pressure is applied to the inside of the internal tube to attain the expansion of the tube, and a base duplex tube 3 is made with the external tube and the internal tube nearly adhered to each other. Then, the duplex tube is concentrically and relatively inserted into a circular heating device 6 and a circular cooling device 7, 7 which is each fixed in the front and the rear of the heating device 6; and while the circular heating device and the circular cooling devices are being operated, moved relatively to the axial direction of the base duplex tube; heated in a ring from the outside of the external tube by the circular heating device; with the expansion at both ends of the heated part restrained by means of the front and rear circular cooling devices, the duplex tube is held, applied with a bending moment, and plastically deformed, the diameter of the external tube against the internal tube is reduced; and the initial clearance is made zero.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely seal a high pressure fluid even when a work is a sheet material of a large-diameter special shaped pipe. CONSTITUTION:The work 1 is mounted on an upper die 4 and lower die 5 on which tapered parts 4a, 5a are respectively formed. The left end of the work 1 has a projecting allowance 1a which is protruded from the corners 4b, 5b in the tapered parts. A tapered part 6a having a step is formed at the right end of a ferrule 6. By advancing this ferrule 6 from its retracted position and inserting into the left end of the work 1, the projecting allowance 1a is expanded into a taper shape and also a part of the allowance is compressed like the thin wall part 1a' and fluid pressure is sealed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a large-sized equipment and to obtain a large amount of deformation with a small working force by deforming a metallic extruded tube extruded from an extruding machine through the pressure of fluid introduced into the tube within a high temperature state directly after extrusion in the direction of an expanding diameter. CONSTITUTION:A stem 2 is advanced and after the extruded tube A is extruded, the tip part A1 is sealed. Before the extrusion, a blow forming die 5 is advanced to a position where die units 51, 51 are approached most nearly to each other. The tube to be extruded is extruded by a prescribed length, then, stops being extruded one. Then, a part which the extruded tube passes through the platen 6 is cooled. A part of the extruded tube which passes through the blow forming die is kept at a high temperature and becomes easy to deform. Air is supplied by pressure from an introducing hole 8 to the extruded tube. A blow forming die part is bulged and deformed in the direction of an expanding diameter along the inside shape of a bulging space 7. In this way, the manufacturing time of a formed part is reduced and the productivity can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form residual compressive stress along the peripheral direction on the inner peripheral part in the surface crossed orthogonally with the axis of a metallic tube by using a specified core and a specified method. CONSTITUTION:A core made of material larger in the coefficient of thermal expansion than material forming a metallic tube is inserted into the metallic tube and heattreated as it is to expand the internal diameter of the metallic tube. Then, after plastic elongation is generated in the peripheral direction of the metallic tube, the metallic tube is cooled to remove the core. In this way, the residual compressive stress along the peripheral direction can be generated on the peripheral part in the surface crossed orthogonally with the axis of the metallic tube, so-called ballooning phenomenon is prevented from generation and a tube having a uniform diameter can be manufactured stably.
