Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for setting a reference color tone so as to print a monotone image as desired. SOLUTION: A color tone setting picture including a color tone designation area 110 for designating a color tone of a monotone image at one designation point is displayed. In accordance with a position of the designation point designated within the color tone designation area 110, the color tone of the monotone image is determined. The color tone designation area 110 is defined on an a*b* plane of an L*a*b* color specification system, and three reference color tone points Pneutral, Pwarm, Pcool indicating three reference color tones of warm tone, neutral tone and cool tone are linearly disposed within the color tone designation area 110 beforehand.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a type of printing medium depending on print content when analyzing and printing a description document such as an HTML document or an extended XHTML document. SOLUTION: The sum S of areas of images in elements laid out in the first page is calculated (S306), and a ratio ρ of the images in an overall paper area A is calculated (S308). If the image ratio ρ is larger than a threshold ρref, "Photographic paper" is set (S312), or if the ratio ρ is not larger than the threshold ρref, "Plain paper" is set (S314). Whether or not the set paper type matches paper set in a printer is determined (S316), and if the paper types do not match, the type and size of printing paper to be set are outputted for display (S318) and an operator's confirmation is accepted (S320). Printing is thereby possible on the paper type more suitable for the print content. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain highest print quality by using even a simple media center which adapts to print conditions fixed by a user and a discriminated media group to execute a printing process to unprescribed sheets of paper with an optimum print profile most suitable to the unprescribed sheets thus fed. SOLUTION: The print profile corresponding to one of the media groups stored in a print profile storage part 619 is selected for printing based on the media groups determined by a paper sheet kind determination processing part 612 according to the print conditions set by a print setting processing part 611 by means of the user's operation based on the information obtained from a printer and, and a print data generation processing part 618 sets the print conditions to print data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can arbitrarily specify a printing direction of images conformed to an index direction of an index paper, and an image processing program. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus which feeds a printing paper and the index paper, forms the image to the printing paper and interposes the index paper between printing papers with images formed has a means for detecting a direction of the fed printing paper, a rotation angle setting means for setting a rotation angle of the image so that the image is a constant direction to the index of the index paper in correspondence to the detected direction of the printing paper, and a means for printing the image rotated by the set angle. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which avoids degraded image quality at a page border and a head of an image when processing data of a long size print. SOLUTION: The operating flowchart of the image processing method includes: a step S206 of storing received image data to a page buffer in the unit of pages; a step S211 of applying error diffusion processing to the image data stored in the page buffer in the unit of one raster to produce and output binary data; and a step S210 of storing an error in the subscanning direction in the error diffusion processing in the case of binary processing to an error buffer and initializing the error buffer on the basis of positions in the subscanning direction of a raster subjected to the error diffusion processing just before and a raster going to be subjected to the error diffusion processing and of the number of raster sets in a page. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control device and a printing system that can accurately print index information on a tab section of a tab paper sheet without creating deviation in printing. SOLUTION: A position where the index information (Sections 1-5) is printed in each of tab parts of a set of the tab paper sheets 300 (for example five sheets) is set. The index information is printed on a trial printing sheet 310 (an opaque paper sheet) together with boundary lines (L1-3) based on the set value. When an amount of deviation in printing in a lateral direction is measured, the boundary line (L2) of the trial printing sheet 310 is superposed on the right end (iii) of the index region of the set of the tab paper sheets 300, and then a distance (an amount of deviation in printing) between the extended line (ii) of the boundary line (L2) and the left end (i) of the index region is measured. When the index information (Sections 1-5) is printed on the set of the tab paper sheets 300 after the set value is reset by using the measured value, the printing is correctly performed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unpermitted copying when an image reader reads a contidential document. SOLUTION: An image to be read is one in which pattern images are arranged so that control information for inhibiting a copying operation or cancelling the inhibition can be represented. A copy inhibition code and a copy inhibition cancel condition code are allotted to the pattern images. In the 'ordinary copy mode' of the copying machine, the copy inhibition code is detected from a read image by a copy inhibition information detecting part 22. A control part 32 cancels a copying operation when the copy inhibition code is detected. A condition information detecting means 24 detects a condition code from the read image. When the conditions are satisfied, a copy mode for permitting the copying operation is provided. The control part 32 permits copying when the conditions, such as a specified user and time after a particular time of day, are satisfied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
