摘要: In an embodiment, an application server determines a priority associated with a given multicast message for transmission to at least one access terminal, configures the given multicast message to indicate the priority of the given multicast message and forwards the configured multicast message to an access network for transmission to the at least one access terminal a number of times based at least in part on the indicated priority. Alternatively, the application server can indicate, in the configured multicast message, the number of times to transmit the given multicast message. The priority, or number of times to transmit the given multicast message, can be conveyed to the access network by a flag inserted into the configured multicast message by the application server. The access network determines the number of times to transmit the given multicast message to the at least one access terminal based on the flag.

摘要: The present invention provides an IP broadcasting system that can receive IP broadcasting videos over an IP multicast network. In the IP broadcasting system, a multicast group management apparatus for IP broadcasting that holds multicast group identifiers is connected via an IP multicast network over which IP broadcasting services are provided. When a user issues a request to switch an IP broadcasting channel from an IP broadcasting terminal, a query message including the requested IP broadcasting channel identifier is transmitted to a management apparatus. The IP broadcasting terminal receives a response message indicating the correspondence between the IP broadcasting channel identifier and a multicast group identifier, and transmits a video reception request message to a multicast group by using the received multicast group identifier.

Each slave unit temporarily stores a signal and measures the amount of the signal information before transmitting the signal. A master unit requests that slave units report the measured amounts of information, and they give reports to the master unit. On the basis of the reports from the slave units, the master unit determines an allowable amount of information for each slave unit and permits the slave units to transmit the stored signals according to the request from the master unit. The interval between the reports from the slave units to the master unit can be varied.

摘要: A broadcast network (10) for selectively transmitting individualized weather output signals to at least one of a plurality of communicator devices remotely located from the broadcast network, the broadcast network comprising: a user input database (14) containing a plurality of user-defined parameters with each of the user-defined parameters associated with a particular user and including a user profile, the user profile in each of the user-defined parameters including a user identifier code identifying a communicator device (11) associated with the particular user; a weather analysis unit (12) generating, upon demand of the user or continuously, a plurality of individualized weather output signals including weather information within spatial ranges identified by spatial range identifiers and location codes, wherein each spatial range is distinct for each particular user, and wherein the weather output signals derive from a comparison by the weather analysis unit of a location code and a spatial range identifier associated with each particular user with the real-time weather data received from a weather information database (21); and a communication network (20) receiving the user identifier codes in the user-defined parameters and the individualized weather output signals, the communication network transmitting each individualized weather output signal to the communicator device identified by the user identifier code in the user profile included in the user-defined parameter.
