In the negative electrode plate manufacturing process, the mixture obtained by mixing the hydrogen storage alloy powder with the YOpowder in an addition ratio set so that a first product S1 of the half-width HW of a peak on a (222) plane observed by powder X-ray diffraction of YOpowder and the addition ratio P of the YOpower in the mixture is 0.03-0.17 deg. wt% is used.
