摘要: PURPOSE:To provide a process capable of producing the subject compound in highly active state in high selectivity using a small amount of a homogeneous catalyst and an inexpensive apparatus by subjecting an olefin to hydration reaction by using a specific catalyst in the presence of Cu and sulfolane. CONSTITUTION:This compound is obtained by subjecting an olefin to hydration using a catalyst consisting of a polymer soluble in sulfolane, water and/or the olefin and containing a sulfone group (preferably, polyvinylsulfonic acid or polystyrenesulfonic acid) in the presence of a copper ion and sulfolane preferably at 30-100 deg.C under the pressure at which the olefin exists as a liquid. Further, the weight-average molecular weight of the polymer of the catalyst is preferably 1000-30000. The hydration reaction is preferably carried out in a stainless steel- made manufacturing apparatus by a counter current-multistage continuous operation. Further, isobutene is preferable as the olefin and tert-butanol is obtained as the objective compound in this case.

摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain an azeotropic composition improved in cleaning force and flame retardancy and being small in breakage of ozone layer. CONSTITUTION:This azeotropic composition is obtained by combining cis-1,1,2,2,3,4-hexafluorocyclobutane with at least one compound selected from a group of methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, n-propanol, tert-butanol, cyclopentane, n-octane, isooctane, n-heptane and methylcyclohexane. Nitromethane in an amount of 0.1-5wt.% is preferably further added as a stabilizer to this azeotropic composition. The azeotropic composition is useful as a cleaning agent, especially, a degreasing and cleaning agent, a flux cleaning agent and an agent for cleaning solid surfaces. The composition is further used as a dehydrating desiccant, especially an agent for drying solid surfaces. The composition is used as a foaming agent to provide a resin foam.

摘要: PURPOSE:To efficiently and readily separate the secondary butanol from the aqueous solution of the secondary butanol in high purity in a reduced amount of consumed energy. CONSTITUTION:A large volume of the secondary butanol is transferred to the side of the gas phase e.g. by bringing the aqueous solution of the secondary butanol into contact with n-butene under a pressure of >=10kg/cm , further effectively under a pressure of >=150kg/cm , by subjecting the n-butanol to a hydration reaction in a silicotungstenic acid aqueous solution under the above- mentioned condition, or by holding the secondary butanol aqueous solution containing the n-butanol under the abovementioned condition. The obtained gas phase is discharged outside the system, cooled into a liquid, and separated into an oil layer and a water layer. The n-butene is distilled off from the oil layer by a distillation method not using an extraction solvent, etc., thus obtaining the secondary butanol in a high yield as a substantially pure form.
