PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably manufacture a carbonated solid having a high strength regardless of the particle size distribution or the like of a raw material. SOLUTION: The inside of a packed layer of noncarbonated Ca-containing raw material (or the carbonated solid) containing water is evacuated or the inside of the packed layer is evacuated after water is incorporated inside the packed layer to discharge a part of the water and after that, carbonation reaction is brought onto the packed layer under the presence of gaseous carbon dioxide. By the evacuation, surface sticking water on the raw material particle uniformly exists and gaps to be a flow passage of CO 2 are properly secured between raw material particles and by causing the carbonation reaction in the packed layer in this state, the carbonation reaction efficiently and uniformly proceeds through the whole packed layer and the carbonated solid having high strength can be obtained. SOLUTION: The building material is formed by molding a building material composition with unexpanded vermiculite mixed in a base material at a mixing amount of 5-70 mass% of the whole composition (solid content). SOLUTION: A member composed of an inorganic material is manufactured by forming a hydraulic material containing cement-based hydraulic powder into an article, and then aging and hardening the formed article. The functions such as abrasion resistance or sliding properties are added to the formed article using cement as a main raw material by adding powder of a metallic compound or a metal in the hydraulic material or a forming material to be used for the forming. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install an underwater structure having underwater weight equal to or more than a concrete product by using a resource having mass and volume sufficiently smaller than those of the concrete product. SOLUTION: A porous block having fine through pores and obtained by solidifying a collecting body of solid particles wherein at least a part of the solid particles are the solid particles including uncarbonated Ca as a part of composition, by using CaCO 3 prepared by carbonating uncarbonated Ca, is submerged in the water, and the through pores of the porous block are filled with the water, whereby a structure of high specific gravity is installed in the water. As the porous block has fine through pores inside, it has small mass in the air (on land), on the other hand, the water is intruded into the through pores, and the through pores are filled with the water when the block is submerged in the water, whereby the mass of the water filled in the through pores is added to the underwater mass of the porous block, and the desired mass can be secured in the water.
