Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating gun achieving a compact configuration with a CCV unit disposed in the same housing as an air motor.SOLUTION: The coating gun 2 includes: a high-voltage generating device 6 that is used to generate high voltage; the air motor 4 that is a motor portion to which the high voltage is applied; a bell cup 5 that is supported on a rotary shaft 4a of the air motor 4 and to which the high voltage is applied; the CCV unit 7 that selectively supplies a plurality of types of paint to the bell cup 5; a gun body 3 that is a casing and that contains the high-voltage generating device 6, the air motor 4 and the CCV unit 7; and a coupling portion 3c that is used to couple the gun body 3 to a robot arm 8 and that is grounded. The air motor 4 and the CCV unit 7 are electrically connected to each other via a first resistor 11, and the coupling portion 3c and the CCV unit 7 are electrically connected to each other via a second resistor 12.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating apparatus which aims at improvement in deposition efficiency while suppressing voltage impressed by a high voltage generator same as that of a conventional one, and can realize improvement in speed of a coating speed, and to provide an electrostatic coating method by the electrostatic coating apparatus.SOLUTION: The electrostatic coating apparatus 1 includes: a coating gun 4 which sprays a coating material to a work 2 which is an object to be coated; a high voltage generator 5 which impresses high voltage to the coating gun 4 (or may be an electrode attached to the coating gun 4); and a controller 6 which controls high voltage impressed by the high voltage generator 5, wherein in the controller 6, a first voltage Vwhich is an applied voltage suitable for electrostatic coating and a second voltage Vwhich is lower than the first voltage Vare established, and each of the voltages Vand Vcan be switched in a shape of pulse by a predetermined pulse width t, a pulse interval t, and an amplitude ΔV.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating device which can certainly prevent the device itself from being stained by a coating material, in such a state that a direct coating material mist and an indirect coating material mist exist as mixed around a robot arm, as well as a method for preventing an electrostatic coating device from being stained by a coating material. SOLUTION: A controller 9b functions as follows: That is, the case is such that a plurality of different kinds of coating material mists (e.g. two different kinds of coating material mists) with varying characteristics, are present in mixed fashion around the robot arm 4. Voltage generated by a high voltage generation part 9a is converted by the controller 9b to a plurality of pulsatile electric potentials complying with the respective characteristics of each coating material mist, at predetermined periods which can meet the property of a coating material mist (i.e. a coating material mist including each different kind of coating material mist) which exists around the robot arm 4.
