PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic updating method for an information disclosure server using an electronic mail, by which the degree of user satisfaction is improved and an automatic updating system. SOLUTION: An inquiry electronic mail is transmitted from a terminal 10 to a user inquiry mail address through a network 100. The information disclosure server 20 converts the inquiry electronic mail transmitted from the user to the user inquiry mail address into html, stores a converted file into the prescribed directory of a storage device which is previously decided. An html file name is added to the number order list of an html system and the inquiry electronic mail is transmitted to a manager client terminal 30. When a response is given to the inquiry electronic mail from the manger client terminal 30, it is transmitted to the user inquiry mail address in addition to a return user address. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a notebook type personal computer having a function separable from a main body part to effectively utilize a liquid crystal screen part and provided with the liquid crystal screen part for enabling both the main body part and the liquid crystal screen part to be utilized as an independent device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal screen part 1 can be attached and detached to/from the main body part 2, the liquid crystal screen part 1 can be used not only of the main body part 2 but also as a general purpose liquid crystal display 1a of another external computer main body 3 by being independent, and not only as a dedicated display 1 for the main body part like so far but also a function as a general purpose liquid crystal display 1a can be added. Also, the main body part 2 is driven not only as a portion of a notebook type personal computer for outputting an image only to the liquid crystal screen part 1 as in the conventional manner but also as a (displayless) mobile personal computer 2a capable of outputting to an another external display device 4 to make space saving and lightening.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a phase compensation capacitor which has been in a discharging state being charged, if an input signal becomes higher than a prescribed threshold after a period in which the input signal is lower than the prescribed threshold, and this causes a large noise to an output signal from a preamplifier. SOLUTION: A transistor 13 is kept on, during a period in which an input signal is less than the prescribed threshold level, and a reference voltage is applied to a gate of a transistor 16 through a drain and a source of the transistor 13 to keep the on resistance of the transistor 16 in a high state. A phase compensation capacitor is charged during the period, in which the input signal is less than the prescribed threshold. Also, the transistor 16 is kept on, during a period in which an input signal is more than the prescribed threshold, the on resistance of the transistor 16 is kept at the minimum value to charge the capacitor 7 and carry out a compensation operation. Thus, the capacitor 7 will be charged at all times. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of connections of UTOPIA buses for connecting an ATM layer device to a PHY layer device. SOLUTION: Each control signal of a UTOPIA bus 2, for connecting an ATM layer device 1 to a PHY layer device 3, is shared by reception side processing and transmission side processing, and the transmission side processing and the reception side processing are switched alternately through time-division. In this case, the switching timing of PHY output enable to disable and the switching timing of ATM output disable to enable are executed respectively, at the rising and falling of a clock with a fixed time interval, far avoiding collision of the mutual output signals at switching. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asynchronous signal sampling circuit, capable of transmitting larger amount of asynchronous data or of external data, enabling improvement of transmission efficiency. SOLUTION: With a timing pulse 106, a counter circuit 3 is triggered and counting is started. Upon input of an external asynchronous signal 101, a change point detector circuit 1 detects the change point of this signal 101 and transfers its change point pulse 105 to a counter circuit 3. Upon inputting of the pulse 105, the counter circuit 3 stops counting and transfers the counted value, up to this time to a coding circuit 4, which then codes the counted value and the polarity of the asynchronous signal 101 at the stoppage time and sends them out as a synchronization signal (#1) 102 at next time. An external data inserting circuit 5 inserts external data 104 in empty slots of the synchronization signal (#1) 102 and sends out them as a synchronous signal (#2) 103.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wavelength multiplex communication equipment, a wavelength multiplex communication system, and a transmission line changeover system for preventing simultaneous use of an active system transmission line and a standby system transmission line on the occurrence of a fault. SOLUTION: Each of wavelength multiplexers 11-14 is provided with a plurality of receivers 21, a plurality of λ E/O sections 22, a multiplexer section 23 for multiplexing optical signals, a demultiplexer section 24 for demultiplexing a wavelength multiplex signal, a plurality of O/E sections 25, a plurality of transmitters 26, a transmitter side monitor circuit 27 and a receiver side monitor circuit 28 that are connected to a transmitter side path and a receiver side path respectively to detect a signal fault, and a mask circuit 29 that shuts off transmission of the signal according to a notice from the monitor circuits. When the monitor circuits detect a fault in a signal through the transmitter side path or the receiver side path, the monitor circuits inform the mask circuit about the fault of all the signals, the mask circuit notified about the fault shuts off transmission of all the signals and changeover devices 31-34 sensing the signal shut off simultaneously switch the active system transmission lines into the standby system transmission lines.
