PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a temperature-dependent change of position on a machine tool.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method and device for compensating a temperature-dependent change of position on a machine tool having at least one linear axis. At least one first temperature is obtained at a first temperature measuring position of a first linear axis of the machine tool, a first difference in temperature between a first reference temperature and the first temperature is obtained, a first compensation value is determined in dependence of the first difference in temperature, and a temperature-dependent change of position on the machine tool is compensated in dependence of the first compensation value. The first compensation value is further determined in dependence of an axis position of the first linear axis.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool exchanger for a machine tool capable of making the exchange of a tool quick while a tool exchange cycle time is shortened. SOLUTION: The tool exchanger for a machine tool comprises at least one rotary tool gripper 20, a support 18 for the tool gripper 20 capable of ascending and descending, and turning around a rotary axis 22, and a mechanical type cam drive device having a drive motor 35, a cam barrel 30, and intermediate gears 43-46 and causing a rise and the rotary movement of the tool gripper. The cam barrel 30 has a tappet 34 for rotatably driving the tool gripper 20 at an upper front face, and a cam curve 32 prepared for the ascending movement of the tool gripper 20 on a peripheral surface of the gripper 20. The front tappet 34 drives a Malta gear 40 supported to a shaft 39 parallel to the rotary axis 22 of the tool gripper 20. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool chain magazine for, in particular, a program-controlled milling machine and a machining center which is capable of receiving the controllable load even during the sophisticated accelerating operation and high-speed operation, and manufactured and operated with considerably economical efficiency in a cost-saving manner. SOLUTION: The tool chain magazine includes: a supporting structure with a straight guide device, a chain wheel, and a rotation-driving device being attached thereon; and an endless magazine chain constituted of a series of chain links which are hinge-connected to each other. Each chain link is guided by a straight supporting and guiding member, and has a socket as a tool holder. The chain link is integrally formed of an abrasion-resistant material with dimensional consistency such as a light metal or a reinforced plastic. The tool chain magazine is capable of omitting any complicated machining, reducing the weight thereof, and reducing and controlling the load caused by acceleration and deceleration to prolong the lifetime, and manufactured in a cost saving manner, and operable with economically high efficiency. SOLUTION: The machine tool includes: a machine frame 1 including dimensionally rigid sidewalls 2, 3 provided with upper horizontal linear guides 4, 5; combination slides 6, 11 which are displaceable on the linear guides 4, 5, and in front of which a machining unit 14 with a spindle head 15 is vertically displaceably guided; and an installation units 24-28 for material to be-ground arranged in the space between the sidewalls 2, 3. The installation unit for material to be ground may have a table 28 for material to be ground or a chucking device for material to be ground. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide machine tool, particularly milling/drilling machine equipped with a rigid base unit 1, designed to manufacture an inclined support face 8, which is oriented toward the forward and upward directions. SOLUTION: The support face 8 forms a supporter designed to be used for the workpiece holder 10, which can revolve around the central axis 15, and which is equipped with a support body, which is held by the support face 8 and can revolve around the central axis 15. On a swerved support portion 13 of a supporter 12, a workpiece table 14 is installed, with its axis 34 forming an acute angle with the central axis 15 of the support face 8. Based on this arrangement, the support face 8 is dislocated sideways in relation of the central/vertical face 34 of the base unit 1, with the central axis 15 of the support face 8 forming an acute angle with the central/vertical face 32 of the base unit 1.
