PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision damage reduction system that appropriately performs collision determination for a horizontal position of an object when determining execution timing of damage reduction control by interpolating TTC.SOLUTION: A collision damage reduction system includes an object detection device 10 that detects an object; an arrival time calculation device 11 that calculates an arrival time required to arrive at the object; and a device control device 12 that evaluates the arrival time and controls a reduction device for damage due to collision with the object. The device control device includes: a horizontal position reference value adjustment means 22 that sets, when the arrival time is not more than a threshold value, a reference value for determining whether or not a horizontal position of the object collides with an own vehicle to be smaller than when the arrival time is larger than the threshold value; an elapsed time count means 24 that counts an elapsed time after an arrival time is obtained from the arrival time calculation device when the horizontal position of the object is smaller than the reference value adjusted by the horizontal position reference value adjustment means; and an avoidance device control means 26 that starts control of an avoidance device.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase opportunities of collision avoidance by starting an engine in an early stage when possibility of being collided by another vehicle is predicted during engine stop for economical running control. SOLUTION: In a vehicle control device provided with an economical running control device automatically stopping the engine under predetermined stop conditions when the vehicle stops and starting the engine under predetermined re-start conditions, a vehicle surrounding monitor device detecting possibility of being collided by another vehicle is moreover provided, the vehicle periphery monitor device detects collision possibility during engine stop for economical running control (affirmative in step S10, affirmative in S20, S30), the engine is started in the early stage to give a driver opportunities of collision avoidance if there is a merit of engine start (if there is possibility of collision avoidance) (affirmative in S40), and a PCS (Pre-Crash-Safety) device is operated in preparation for the collision to protect occupants (S50). SOLUTION: This vehicle remote controlling device makes a vehicle execute a requested control in response to a remote control request from a vehicle user. In the vehicle remote controlling device, a fail safe criteria when the remote control is executed in response to the distance between the vehicle user and the vehicle is changed in such a manner that the fail safe criteria may become loose by reducing fail safe items which are operated when the remote control is executed as the distance between the vehicle user and the vehicle becomes shorter. As a simple modification example, instead of measuring the distance between the vehicle user and the vehicle, whether the vehicle user is around the vehicle or not may be judged depending upon whether the key is sensed or not by a smart entry system.
