Abstract: Method for purifying diarylcarbonate in at least one distillation column, which contains at least one reinforcement part in the upper part of the column and at least one output part in the lower part of the column, comprises producing diarylcarbonate to be purified by transesterifying at least one dialkylcarbonate and at least one aromatic hydroxyl compound in the presence of at least one transesterification catalyst, where the catalyst is contained as impurities, and extracting the purified diarylcarbonate in the side stream of the first distillation column.
