Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber assembly that exhibits performance without being dissolved even when an organic solvent is heated. SOLUTION: The fiber assembly comprises a fiber obtained by coating a first polymer soluble in an organic solvent with a second polymer insoluble in the organic solvent. Preferably the second polymer is insoluble in water. Especially a carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is preferable as the second polymer. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sheet by which the sheet is produced without changing properties e.g. fiber orientation, thickness, porosity, shapes of open holes and an open hole ratio, and without causing bubbles, wrinkles and transcription marks by a porous body, and to provide an apparatus for producing the sheet. SOLUTION: A precursor sheet and a chargeable material are attracted to each other by continuing the charging of the chargeable material and the precursor sheet in mutually opposite polarities to form the precursor sheet into a fixed state by an electric force. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for electric-double-layer capacitors which is excellent in its short circuit resistance even though it is thin, and provide an electric-double-layer capacitor. SOLUTION: The separator for electric-double-layer capacitors is made of acrylonitrile copolymer, and it comprises a fiber assembly including extra-fine fibers whose average fiber diameter is not larger than 0.2 μm, and further, the extra-fine fibers are subjected to the undissolved treatment for the electrolyte whose solvent is propylene carbonate. The extra-fine fibers are preferably the ones subjected to fiber forming by an electrostatic fiber-forming method. In the electric-double-layer capacitor, the separator is used.
