    摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of favorably suppressing both overlapping misalignment of each color toner image on an intermediate transfer belt 8 resulting from a change in latent image write-in position and overlapping misalignment of each color toner image resulting from a change in speed of the intermediate transfer belt 8. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: a drive roller 12 which is rotatably driven; an intermediate transfer belt 8 stretched by a driven roller which can be driven and rotated; and an optical sensor unit 150 which detects a predetermined pattern image formed on the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 8. The device overlaps and transfers Y, C, M and K toner images formed on photoreceptors for Y, C, M and K (not shown), respectively, onto the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 8. The optical sensor unit 150 is arranged so as to face a region of a winding and rotating position for an encoder roller 14 as the driven roller, of an entire peripheral region of the intermediate transfer belt 8, and an encoder for detecting a rotating speed of the encoder roller 14 is provided.
