    SOLUTION: The electromagnetic suspension device is equipped with a yoke YK which includes: two coils CL1, CL2 axially arranged so as to surround a magnet member MG of the single-phase linear motor LM; and two slits SL1, SL2 opened near the ends adjacent to these coils. The two coils are energized when the axial center section NE of the magnet member is positioned between the two slits based on detection results of at least a detection means SN. When the axial center section exceeds a predetermined position near one side of the two slits, only the coil forming a magnet circuit through one side slit is energized in the opposite direction to that when the two coils are energized.
