PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor in which each independent concave portion is formed on the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, so as to allow a releasing material to be present on the surface at high concentration and to keep the releasing effect, and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by the method, and a process cartridge and an electrophotographic device equipped with the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a surface layer containing a releasing material in concave portions on a support includes steps of: (1) forming concave portions with a depth of 0.1 μm to 10 μm each independent from one another on the surface of the surface layer; and (2) incorporating the releasing material into the concave portions. The present invention also discloses an electrophotographic photoreceptor manufactured by the method for manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor, and a process cartridge and an electrophotographic device equipped with the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
