    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitometric characteristic of a photothermographic material. SOLUTION: The photothermographic material has one or more imaging layers on a support, wherein the imaging layers contain a hydrophilic binder and the following components a)-d) combined in such a way that they react; a) a photocatalyst, b) a non-photosensitive reducible silver ion source present as an aqueous colloidal dispersion, c) a reducing composition for reducible silver ions and d) a tellurium-containing compound type chemical sensitizer represented by structural formula I, II or III. In the formulae I-III, X, L, X , X , R', p and m are defined as described in the specification.
