SOLUTION: The protection device of a wire saw apparatus 5 includes at least one tube-assembly 11 equipped with at least one tube-element 12 which has a hold space 13 which extends along a longitudinal axis A for a saw wire 7, wherein at least one tube-element 12 has at least one axial opening 23, and the opening can be closed by a closing means. At least one tube-element 12 has a coupling means for strongly combining other at least one tube-element with axial ends 18 and 19 in an axial direction, a coupling means includes at least one pimples 20 and 30 and at least one indentations 21 and 31, and these pimples 20 and 30 are formed so as to become a complementary shape to indentations 21 and 31.
