    摘要: PURPOSE:To recover carotene with excellent separation efficiency by simple operation, by passing carotene-containing natural fats and oils through a modified glass wool packing and carrying out treatment. CONSTITUTION:Carotene-containing natural fats and oils are subjected to alcoholysis with a lower monohydric alcohol to provide an oily phase, which is used and mixed with a hydrophilic solvent and water to deposit and separate carotene by heat exchange at 30-120 deg.C. The deposited mixture of a lower alkyl ester of a fatty acid with the hydrophilic solvent and water is then passed through a flocculating part filled with glass wool having the surface modified by coating with silicone films or silylation treatment. The deposited substance is subsequently separated from the residual liquid. Thereby a short residence time of the extract liquid in a separator is sufficient and separation efficiency can be improved by simple and compact operation.

    摘要: PURPOSE:To obtain precipitated carotene, by alcoholyzing natural oil and fat with a lower monohydric alcohol to obtain an oil phase containing carotene and composed mainly of a fatty acid lower alkyl ester, adding a hydrophilic solvent and water to the oil phase and passing the mixing through a fibrous filler. CONSTITUTION:Natural oil and fat containing carotene are alcoholyzed with a lower monohydric alcohol to obtain an oil phase containing carotene and composed mainly of a fatty acid lower alkyl ester. The oil phase is added with a hydrophilic solvent and water and heated at 30-120 deg.C to convert carotene to concentrated small oil droplet phase having a diameter of 1-10mum. The phase containing oil droplet is passed through a coagulation zone filled with fibrous material to obtain carotene droplet grown to a diameter of about 5-10mm. The fibrous material is composed of a material wettable with a fatty acid lower monoalkyl ester (e.g. PVC, nylon, polyester or glass wool) and the packed density of the fibrous material is 0.05-0.3g/cm . The above process can be performed without using a large-sized separation apparatus.

    摘要: PURPOSE: To improve dispersibility to water and to prevent hygroscopic solidification, by a method wherein a fine silica powder and a sticky substance is added to a di-long chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt powder with a specific particle size and the resulting mixture is granulated while a calcium carbonate powder is further added to the obtained granule to perform granulation.
    CONSTITUTION: 10W30pts.wt. of a fine silica powder with an average primary particle size of 0.1μm or less is mixed in 100pts.wt. of a powder with an average particle size of 150μm or less of a di-long chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt (e.g., di-hydrated tallow alkyl dimethylammonium salt) and a sticky substance (e.g., methyl cellulose) is subsequently added to the resulting mixture in an amount of 20W80pts.wt. to perform granulation while 30W150pts.wt. of a calcium carbonate with an average primary particle size of 0.01W10μm is added to the obtained granule to perform granulation. As a result, the hygroscopic solidification of the dialkyl quaternary salt is prevented and the water dispersibility thereof after preservation becomes well. In addition, the concn. of the dialkyl quaternary salt in the granule is high and the granule can be properly dispersed in water as primary particles and a granular product excellent as a cationic surfactant of a softening agent or an anti-static agent is obtained.
