PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that is configured to allow fixing liquid containing a plasticizer to exhibit its function at a use environmental temperature or higher, to prevent contamination of resin in the image forming device except toner, and to prevent excessive supply of the fixing liquid and the plasticizer by maintaining the concentration of the fixing liquid substantially constant.SOLUTION: An electrostatic latent image is written by an optical write unit 3 on the surfaces of photoreceptor drums 2Y, 2C, 2M, 2K to form toner images on the surfaces of the photoreceptor drums 2Y, 2C, 2M, 2K using developing devices 12Y, 12C, 12M, 12K. The toner images on the photoreceptor drums 2Y, 2C, 2M, 2K are transferred onto a transfer conveyance belt 4, sequentially. A fixing liquid applying unit 18 applies fixing liquid onto a recording medium 9 conveyed from a registration roller 16. A secondary transfer unit 7 transfers the toner images on the transfer conveyance belt 4 onto the recording medium 9. The concentration of the fixing liquid in the fixing liquid applying unit 18 is controlled.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus such as a copier, facsimile, or printer, which enables image formation that is not limited by liquid development, while avoiding image disturbance, power consumption for drying, an increase in time required for fixing, and influence on members in the apparatus, which result from use of fixing liquid, while reducing power required for heating in fixing, by making toner suitable for fixing by the use of a fixing agent supplied to a recording medium, the fixing agent being different from a liquid.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes fixing agent supply means 41 for supplying a powdery fixing agent to the image bearing side of a recording medium S before bearing a toner image, the powder fixing agent containing plasticizer for swelling and softening toner and making the toner suitable to be fixed to the recording medium S. The toner image on an image bearing member 11 is transferred to the recording medium S, to which the fixing agent has been supplied by the fixing agent supply means 41, so as to contact the fixing agent. The toner on the recording medium S and fixing agent are heated to bring the toner into the above-mentioned state, and the toner is fixed to the recording medium S.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed, high-reliable and inexpensive image forming apparatus, which forms double-sided images in an image forming form of the so-called one-path form. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a first intermediate transfer body to which first toner images formed on a plurality of first image carriers are primarily transferred, and which is the intermediate transfer body for carrying the first toner image; and a second image carrier for carrying a second monochrome toner image. The first toner image carried on the intermediate transfer body is electrostatically transferred to a first surface of a recording medium, and the second toner image is directly electrostatically transferred to a second surface of the recording medium on a reverse side to the first surface on an upstream side or a downstream side of the intermediate transfer body in a recording medium conveying direction. The recording medium which carries the toner images on the first and second surfaces is fed to a fixing stage, to perform double-sided image fixing at a time, and a charge polarity of the first toner image carried on the intermediate transfer body is made to be different from a charge polarity of the second toner image. SOLUTION: A first developer conveying part 201 is arranged to be adjacent to a developing roller 51 supplying toner to an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor drum 20 and a second developer conveying part 204 is arranged to be adjacent to the first developer conveying part 201. The second developer conveying part 204 comprises an acclivity part 204A as a first inclined part conveying the developer received from the first developer conveying part 201 by a rising slope and a declivity part 204B. The toner is replenished on the upstream side of the declivity part 204B. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable free selection between a high image quality mode using a toner of a low coloration degree and an image quality mode using a toner of an ordinary coloration degree without increasing a development device or a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: When a toner end is not applicable (NO in S3) and the current toner is different from the previous toner cartridge (YES in S4), it is determined whether or not the user selection mode is the image quality priority mode. When the image quality priority mode is selected (YES in S5), the toner discharge mode is performed (S6), and after the discharge, the toner replenishment mode is performed. In the discharge mode, a consumption pattern is created on the photoreceptor, and the toner on the photoreceptor is cleaned (S7). In the discharge mode, the toner is discharged to the toner end level (YES in S8), and a toner is replenished (S9).
