When the amount of toner supplied to the developing tank 2 per unit time is smaller than a predetermined amount P1 and the temperature in the inside of the developing tank 2 is higher than a predetermined temperature T1 (Yes in S3), the control section 17 cools the inside of the developing tank 2 by the use of the Peltier device 9 (S4). SOLUTION: The following two-component developer is used in an image forming apparatus 100 including an image forming unit 1, a recording material supply unit 2, an image fixing unit 3 and a controlling unit 4. The two-component developer comprises: toner particles containing a binder resin, a colorant and a charge controlling agent, wherein the colorant content is ≥10 wt.%; and a silicon resin coated ferrite-based carrier.
