PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus improves accuracy of an image forming position by correcting a position of transferring a toner image onto a recording paper without reducing printing speed even if the recording paper skews. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: a photoreceptor drum 3; an exposure unit 1; a developing device 2; a registration roller 13 registering the leading edge of conveyed paper in a contact manner ; a skew sensor 20 provided on a downstream side in a paper conveying direction of the registration roller 13 and detecting a skew amount of the leading edge of the paper passing through the registration roller 13; and a transfer part 6 transferring the toner image to the paper through an intermediate transfer belt 61 to which the toner image formed on the photoreceptor drum 3 is temporarily transferred. The toner image formed on a surface of the photoreceptor drum 3 is transferred to the recording medium and output. The apparatus 100 includes: an intermediate transfer belt tilt driving part 30 displacing the intermediate transfer belt 61, and a control part 40 controlling the drive of the intermediate transfer belt tilt driving part 30. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device for suppressing a sheet being left on a paper ejection tray and appropriately utilizing a storing part. SOLUTION: When a recording sheet A is detected by a paper ejection tray existence detection sensor, a control part controls a timer to start to measure time. While measuring time, if a hand insertion sensor detects insertion of a hand, the control part resets time measurement of the timer. Then the control part starts the time measurement again from when the insertion of the hand is detected. When a predetermined period of time is elapsed, the control part drives a top plate support lever drive motor to rotate a top plate 310 downward. The control part rotates and drives respective rollers 311, 312, 313 and recovers the recording sheet A on the paper ejection tray 264 to a recovery box 300. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect with high accuracy an error of an output signal of a light sensor caused by a large amount of paper powder sticking to the light sensor. SOLUTION: A document reader 1 includes a carrying path 104, the light sensor 132, a contact sensor 131 and a control device 150. Both of the contact sensor 131 and the light sensor 132 output low signals indicating that a document exists in a determining position or high signals indicating that no document exists in the determining position 130. The control device 150 determines that a signal outputted from the light sensor 132 is an error when the light sensor 132 outputs the low signal while the contact sensor 131 outputs the high signal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for processing an image capable of preventing color or black-and-white wrong output, even for an original in which the decision of a color original or a black-and-white original is difficult, and to provide a device for reading the original, a device for forming the image and a computer program. SOLUTION: An ACS processing section 22 determines whether a pixel is of chromatic color on the basis of the pixel value of an original image, while counting the number of the pixels of the chromatic color. The ACS processing section 22 displays a contracted image that has the image contracted into a specified size as the possibility of the generation of error in the decision of the color original or black-and-white original of the original, corresponding to the image when the counted chromatic-color pixel number is smaller than a first chromatic-color pixel threshold Th1 but is larger than a second chromatic-color pixel threshold Th2, and receives a decision instruction by a user. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which can implement the quantization, or the quantization and reduction of original images by a small circuit. SOLUTION: An FIFO 11 has a bit width of 13 bits, and 10-bit error data outputted from a quantizing part 12 and 1-bit binary data for 3 lines are inputted to it. It stores the error data on the side of higher bits in the direction of the bit width and the binary data for 3 lines on the side of lower bits. The error data and the binary data read out of the FIFO 11 are inputted to the quantizing part 12 and the reducing part 16, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader and computer software capable of acquiring satisfactory shading data regardless of whether or not garbage is put on a reference board, by checking whether or not read image data are peculiar data on which garbage or the like are put, and calculating shading data based on the result. SOLUTION: This image reader is provided with an image sensor 14 and a means for calculating data for executing shading correction to the variation of light receiving elements as shading data. This image reader is also provided with a discriminating means for sorting the image data acquired by the image sensor 14 into peculiar image data and the other data based on reference data. The shading calculating means calculates shading data by using the data acquired by executing the specific processing to the image data which are determined as the specific image data by the determining means, and the image data which are determined as not any peculiar image data by the determining means. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the speed of image output in a printing system which temporarily transmits print data generated by a user's terminal to an intermediating device, then selects a printer which actually makes printing, and prints an image of the print data with the selected printer. SOLUTION: The intermediating device 3 in the printing system 1 constituted by connecting a terminal 2, a plurality of printers 4 having an image output part, and the intermediating device 3 receiving and storing the print data from the terminal 2 and transmitting the print data to the printers 4 obtains correction data according to the peripheral environment of the printer 4 from the printer 4 after receiving the print data, converts the print data using the obtained correction data, creates data for an image output part, and stores the created data for the image output part. According to the selection of the printer 4 by the terminal 2, the data for the image output part stored for the printer 4 is transmitted to the printer 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment which can reduce power consumption. SOLUTION: The network equipment (image formation device) 1 is connected to the other network equipment via a network at a plurality of communication speeds to enable communication. When the network equipment 1 is in the communication standby state, the communication speed setting is switched to a low-speed mode at N (N>0) stage if no communication request is received for a given length of time, and communication is completed at a currently set communication speed if a communication request comes from the other network equipment. After the completion of communication, the communication speed setting is switched to a high-speed mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
