Abstract:
A process for improving the dispersibility of inorganic and organic pigments and fillers which comprises contacting said pigments and fillers with (a) a mixture of aminoalkanols of the formulae (I) or (II), wherein R1 and R2 are alkyl having 1 to 21 carbon atoms, the sum of the carbon atoms in R1 and R2 being 6 to 22, R3 is hydrogen or methyl, provided there is only one methyl group per (CH)x group, R4 and R5 are the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or hydroxyalkyl having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, x is an integer of from 2 to 6 and y is 0,1,2 or 3, the R1-CH-CH-R2 units in the aminoalkanols being of at least two different chain lengths of from 8 to 24 carbon atoms and the vicinal substituents being distributed statistically along said chain lengths, with the proviso that, if y is 0, R4 and R5 are not both hydrogen, or (b) salts, (c) alkoxylation products, and (d) quaternization products of said aminoalkanols, and recovering highly dispersible pigments and fillers.
Abstract:
Azo pigment composition (I) comprises 4,4'-diamino-dicyclohexyl-meth ane, comprising at least 25% of its trans, trans-isomer. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of the composition comprising adding 4,4'-diamino-dicyclohexyl-methane containing at least 25% of trans, trans portion during or after azo-coupling, but before the isolation of azo pigment; and (2) a printing ink comprising (I).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic pigment fine particle having a narrow particle distribution and a high optical solidity, and a production process of its dispersion. SOLUTION: The organic pigment fine particle contains at least one of an aromatic compound and an amine compound in a particle. At least one of the compounds is included in at least either an organic pigment solution or an aqueous medium for depositing the organic pigment fine particle so as to obtain an organic pigment fine particle dispersion. The aromatic compound is represented by general formula (1): [wherein R 1 is H or an alkyl group, and X 1 -X 5 are H, or an optional substituent]. The amine compound is for example a 4-acetamide-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl piperidinyl-1-oxy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
