PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive compsn. which has biocompatibility with animal skins, drug permeability, etc., and has a low ten dency of cold flow by compounding a silicate resin, a polyorganosiloxane fluid, and a functionalized polyisobutylene polymer. SOLUTION: This pressure-sensitive adhesive compsn. comprises (A) a silicate resin, (B) a polyorganosiloxane fluid, and (C) a polyisobutylene polymer having at least one functionalized silicon-contg. moiety and exhibits tackiness and adhesiveness upon applying pressure thereto. The sum of ingredients A and B occupies about 75-99 wt.% of the compsn.; and ingredient C, about 1-25 wt.%. The wt. ratio of A:B is about (40:60)-(70:30). The functionalized polyisobutylene polymer may have a silanol group arranged along the polymer chain or at its one or both molecular ends. For example, the compsn. is a reaction product obtd. by heating a mixture of the three ingredients in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst.

Silicone adhesive compositions having excellent quick stick, peel and tack adhesion properties are provided. Generally the adhesive composition is the reaction mixture of a silanol-containing siloxane resin, a silicone polymer gum, and a silicone fluid containing functionality capable of reacting with silanol and silanol-like groups; optionally, a solvent; and a cure catalyst are added.
