Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wave forms different from wave forms of the prior art to a steel filament of a steel structure.SOLUTION: A single steel filament is adapted for the reinforcement of elastomers, and the single steel filament includes one or more steel elements (10). At least one of the steel elements (10) includes a first and a second crimps. The first crimp extends in a plane that is substantially different from the plane of the second crimp. Formation of both crimps can be carried out efficiently by using two pairs of toothed wheels (12, 14) which are not externally driven. The crimps render it possible to obtain single steel filament with an increased penetration of rubber or with an increased elongation at break.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber-steel cord composite excellent in properties of a treat after coated with rubber and having an M+N structure, and to provide a pneumatic radial tire including the same.SOLUTION: The rubber-steel cord composite includes a plurality of steel cords 10 arranged in parallel and embedded in rubber. The steel cord 10 includes a core comprising M pieces of core filaments 1 and a sheath comprising N pieces of sheath filaments 2 twisted around the core. When the diameter of the core filament 1 is defined as d1 and the diameter of the sheath filament 2 is defined as d2, d1>d2; when the average preforming ratio of the core filaments 1 is defined as H1 and the average preforming ratio of the sheath filaments 2 is defined as H2, H1
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord for reinforcing a rubber product, used as a reinforcing material of the rubber product such as a tire for a vehicle and an industrial belt, and having an extremely flat shape and fatigue resistance. SOLUTION: The steel cord for reinforcing the rubber product, having a 3+N structure obtained by twisting N (N is 5-13) wires forming sheath side around a core consisting of three wires is regulated so that the core wires 11 may be parallel to each other, and arranged in one nearly linear direction at the cross section of the cord to form the cord cross section into the extremely flat shape, and the core wires 11 may satisfy the requirements in P of from 0.22Pc to 0.43Pc and in d1 of from 1.02d to 1.05d [wherein, P is the pitch (mm) of kink; Pc is a twisting pitch (mm) of the sheath wire; d1 is an apparent outer diameter (mm); and d is a diameter (mm) of the core wire] to facilitate the stretch of the core wire 11 and to enable a tensile load to be dispersed to the core wires 11 and the wires 12 at the sheath side. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord which is used for reinforcing rubber products, can reduce production cost, has good rubber material invasiveness, is little extended with low loads, and has a two-layered structure. SOLUTION: The method for producing the steel cord 10 comprises forming spiral curls on all core strands 11, pressing the product to form smaller pitch approximately sine wave-like curls than pitches for twisting in an approximately sine wave-like shape, simultaneously twisting the core strands 11 with side strands 12 to form a bundle-twisted two-layered structure, and then pressing the product in the direction crossing the longitudinal direction of the cord. Thus, in the cord 10, the core strands 11 contact with each other at any places in the longitudinal direction of the cord, and are discontinuously arranged in the longitudinal direction of the cord to partially contact in approximate parallel.
