摘要: PURPOSE:To manufacture a screw which has a non-circular shape in a transverse cross-section from a blank which has a circular cross-section. CONSTITUTION:A thread ridge 6 and an inversed spiral projection 7 which is formed in an opposite direction to the thread ridge 6 and has height lower than that of the thread ridge 6 are prepared by rolling. On the thread ridge 6, portions distanced from crossing portions 12 of the thread ridge 6 and the inversed spiral projection 7 are lowered compared to the case that the inversed spiral projection 7 is not formed, since thickness is reduced by a highered rate of the inversed spiral projection 7 in the vicinity thereof. On the other hand, at the crossing portions 12, the thread ridge 6 and the inversed spiral projection 7 has commn highered portions, so that the thread ridge 6 shows height substantially equal to the case that the inversed spiral projection 7 is not formed. In respect to at least one lead, accordingly, a profile line 13 prepared by a top of the thread ridge 6 shows substantially a polygonal shape with the crossing portion 12 as an angle in view of an axial direction.
