The paper feeding means includes an upper paper feeding means 34 for feeding paper from the uppermost position side, and a lower paper feeding means 36 for feeding the paper from the lowest position side. The separating means includes an upper separating means 38 for separating and feeding the document fed by the upper paper feeding means, and a lower separating means 39 for separating and feeding the document fed by the lower paper feeding means. One document is fed to the carrying means by the upper paper feeding means and the upper separating means when reading a single-sided document, and one document is fed to the carrying means by the lower paper feeding means and the lower separating means when reading the double-sided document.

摘要: A carton feeder assembly is positioned substantially at the infeed conveyor level and includes a carton supply assembly, a carton selector, a carton opener, and a carton erector. The carton supply assembly has a carton supply position, a carton holding position, and a carton selecting position. The carton selector includes a pair of feeder wheels with corresponding suction devices and respective motion defining assemblies. The motion defining assemblies cause the suction devices to move along a linear pick line as the feeder wheels rotate, so that the suction devices can apply a suction on a carton to be selected. The selected carton is brought into contact with the feeder wheels by retraction of the suction devices caused by respective motion defining assemblies, so that the carton moves with the feeder wheels to the carton opener. The carton opener includes a vacuum belt which applies suction to one surface of the selected carton as a carton opening wheel applies a suction to a second side of the selected carton. As the vacuum belt moves the carton in a linear direction, the carton opening wheel rotates the second side of the carton so that the carton opens. The vacuum belt then feeds the opened carton into leading lugs on respective chains of the carton erector. Trailing lugs rotate into position behind the opened carton to hold the carton in an erect position suitable for loading the carton with articles such as bottles or cans.

摘要: PURPOSE: To improve efficiency and reliability by controlling revolving speed of a grip mechanism so as to be located at a second revolving speed location for releasing a sheet in a standstill state on a discharge place or so as to be moved at remarkably low speed. CONSTITUTION: A grip mechanism 7 is constituted of a rotatable lower grasping pawl 8 on a shaft 9 along a discharge drum 2 by a control cam 10 and a cam roller 11 traveling on the cam 10 and an upper grasping pawl 12 revolvable in opening and closing directions by an operation mechanism by a control cam 14 and a control roller 15 on a rotary shaft 13 mounted on the grasping pawl 8. Since the discharge drum 2 moves at fixed angular speed and discharges a sheet 1 to a receiving base 4, the lower grasping pawl 8 is oppositely moved by the cam roller 11 and the grip mechanism 7 becomes a standstill state for the receiving base 4 for a moment. The upper grasping pawl 12 is opened and is moved to the receiving base 4 at the time of slowest speed. Therefore, the rear part of the sheet 1 is surely caught by an entraining device 5 and high speed revolution becomes possible.

CONSTITUTION: A front edge of a sheet is pushed over beyond a circumference of a rotary sheet feeding machine 1 in the tangential direction against a circumference of a satellite 37 until it strikes against a conveyor, belt 39 rotating at speed higher than the rotary sheet feeding machine 1. Speed at the time when this sheet parts from the rotary sheet feeding machine 1 is the same as peripheral speed of the rotary sheet feeding machine 1. In this case, the delivered sheet is received by the conveyor belt 39 on a carrier conveyor 2 timely controlled by the rotary sheet feeding machine 1 so that the front edge of the sheet makes contact with a stopper 47 from the rear constantly at the same position and moves. The sheet striking against this conveyor belt 39 swells in the opposite direction of a rotating direction of the rotary sheet feeding machine 1 and forms a loop for cushioning.

摘要: PURPOSE:To reduce the whole size of an apparatus and permit a continuous folding operation by making a plurality of pamphlets receivable in a hopper in superposed relationship, permitting the withdrawal of a the pamphlets starting with the lowermost one and carrying the same in the inverted position by a drum. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of pamphlets are receivable in a hopper 3 in superposed relationship and a folding mechanism 1 is provided with a rorating drum 5 for effecting a partial and complete withdrawal of a pamphlet 4 one by one from the hopper 3, a folding member 6 for the pamphlet 4 and the related driving means therefor. As the rotating drum 5 rotates, the pamphlet 4 is completely withdrawn from the hopper 3, while interposing between a finger 9 and receiving member 25 the end of the pamphlet 4 partially withdrawn by a vacuum pat 8 below the hopper 3. The pamphlet 4 is then released, guided on a conveyor belt, sent to the folding member 6, folded at the center thereof lengthwise, spread under a roller to a predetermined length and delivered continuously to a bundling device 2. In this bundling device 2, a strip paper 41 is automatically wrapped around the center of the long pamphlet 4 orthogonally to the longitudinal direction thereof.

摘要: PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of forms to be stocked by forwarding a form selectively to either longitudinal or lateral direction upon demand when the form is forwarded to the copying section of the sensitive drum out of a set of forms. CONSTITUTION:To forward a form to the lateral direction out of a set of forms 6 which is placed on a table 1 to the longitudinal direction, a plunger 11 is returned to its original position by a recoil strength of a spring 14 winding around its outer surface while a spring loaded solenoid 10 is off. This causes a spring clutch 12 to be disconnected and the rotation of a form forwarding roller 3 fixed on an outer shaft 5 to be discontinued. Under this condition the rotation of a motor 8 allows the uppermost form of the set of forms 6 to rotate by 90 deg. horizontally with center at the form forwarding roller 3 to the direction as shown by the arrow head B accompanied with the rotation of the form forwarding roller 2. Then the spring clutch 11 is connected again while the spring loaded solenoid 10 is on, allowing a form forwarding roller 4 to rotate together with the form forwarding roller 3 simultaneously to forward the form 6 laterally.
